Just gave The Settlers 7 a blast, and it runs great.
average 30fps with mostly high settings/aa off and shadows off. OC on.

Anyone tried empire total war? I just tried the demo and played it on all high, no aa or af just fine. Wondering how it really plays (full install) and if you can play on ultra or if that is too much. Take care, StevenX

I play Empire a lot and it runs great surprisingly, i was expecting this game to be too cpu bound.
I also expected it to be too difficult to control the action on an 11.6" screen..again I was wrong! I love this thing :)

I have the enhanced version of The Witcher on my system as well and its a pretty good old school type rpg. I would have to say Baldur's Gate 2 is one of my all time favorites. DAO plays MUCH different on the computer then the consoles. The consoles lack the overhead zoomed out playmode where it plays like an old school RPG.

Does anyone know if Prototype plays well? I've got this game for the 360 and I love it, so I might sell my 360 copy and buy it for my m11x.

I'm also very satisfied with it's performance in l4d2, even with dozens of zombies and corpses on screen the framerate remains stable.

I've heard Risen is pretty good, not sure how it runs though.. I know it's a little heavier.

I'm nearly done with Dragon Age Origins and when I play I keep asking myself how this could be played on consoles... it seems very much as a pure old-school CRPG.. I had debated getting it on 360 but so glad I didn't. anyway awesome game.

Well the simple, easy answer is that if you are a PC gamer, you probably "couldn't" or at the very least "wouldn't" enjoy the experience or desire to play through it. My best friend at work loves it, but he has never experienced these types of games on a PC. He doesn't understand how much easier and more convenient a mouse, keyboard and hotkeys make things. Not to mention a much better and manageable camera to make the action show up properly.

I just beat DAO.. I decided I needed to kill my backlog and DAO was on my list. My final save game was 35hours and the latter 20 hours of that was not much side questing, just going through main story.. and I switched to easy mode probably at 24 hours in and it was still hard lol. Oh well worth my play time, epic game.

For some reason I can't download WoW normally with the blizzard installer. It keeps giving me a problem with some tempest keep.mp3 file. Then the installer asks me to insert the WotLK dvd, which is strange since Im download the files! If I then insert the dvd (I do have all dvd's but downloading is easier) it does nothing when I click ok :S Anyone else has these problems? Im now forced to just installing with my dvd's.

Does anyone here have the same problems? I copied my Fallout 3 files to my laptop, downloaded a crack, and it seemed to work fine, but it crashes and there are graphic issues, most of the times there's an annoying "window" flashing at the upper right corner, does anyone know how to fix this?

The DVD's give me almost the same problem. At the last stage of the install (wotlk) there is an error and it stops the install :S Looks like I can't install the game?

Is it possible the game won't install properly because I want it in program files(x86)? The installer says its better to install it in another file. Why would this be a problem?

vortexblade - that is exactly the problem. You need to install WoW in the C:\User\public\games folder. The reason being the installer needs access to auto patch your files and with it being in program files there's admin access issues involved that won't let you modify files within there via the patcher. I think it explicity says something about that during install.. anyway try it.

I had no issues with installing Wow/BC/Wotlk. Of course...I used the downloader installer. But it worked none-the-less. I got pretty discouraged when I started seeing tanks with 45k hp.

Yes, prototype plays well, just not at high settings. I turned the detail down and it ran smoothly at native resolution.

it would occasionally slow down with 40-50 or more people on screen but still very playable.

Has anyone got a video of the m11x in either a 10 or 25 man raid on WoW? Or even in a large battleground situation? I'm just curious what kind of performance I can expect.

Thanks for a very interesting thread! I'm more excited than ever to get my laptop.

It's Daralan and killing a few mobs. If by the time I've got my m11x no one has a video of raids, heavy AOE and battlegrounds I'll do my best to get one online for people. I'm very curious to see how low the graphic settings will need to be to handle an intensive AOE attack in Icecrown Citadel.

I've played in winter's grasp on the m11x and did fine, I didn't suffer from any lag. Bloom was turned off as well as shadows I believe, is there any video capture software that can be used? I'll try grabbing some next time I'm in a raid or in battlegrounds to display.

yeah it plays fine with some misc effects I con't care about down and distance up on Alterac Valley and isle of conquest 40man fine. Wintergrasp has no problems either. You def can't run high all the way though, but I also max my graphics at 25fps just cuz I don't need anything higher and it keeps the computer cool.

Just installed Dragon Age. Runs like a charm with everything on max except AA off.

WoW just won't instal on my m11x though :S Tried it a lot of times but gives the same error every time. Doesn't matter if I use the download installation or the dvd's and it also doesn't matter where I instal it. I read a post on the WoW forum with exactly the same problem on a different computer.

    This is the error:
The installer was unable to read the file "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Blizzard Entertainment\World of Warcraft Installer\Installer Tome 3.mpq". This error may be caused by problems with the media or drive at C:\ --for example, a scratched or dirty CD-ROM/DVD-ROM, hard drive corruption, or a networking problem while downloading the installer. (The data being read was "MPQs-2\BurningCrusade common\unconditional\Data#expansion.MPQ\Sound\Music\ZoneMusic\TempestKeep\tk_TempestKeep_AMB_11.mp3", and the error code was 10.) If this problem persists, please contact Blizzard Technical Support. (Converter::Load)

vortex - okay here's another option that does not use an installation method. Do you have a desktop or another computer? Install it somewhere, anywhere, and copy/paste the WoW folder onto an external hdd ~17GB is up to date with some addons (my folder) and transfer to your m11x. I did this b/c I had it backed up already. Then just run it and you'll be good to go.

Dragons Age Origins.. Performance in (Denirim Market District). This area pushes the game harder than most others. Lots of people, animals, ground cover, etc... The m11x can play it on very high/high NO AA at native res. The frame rates will drop to 14/15 and as high as 22/23. Personally I live medium/medium with no AA. For me smooth gameplay is key. I can stay close to 30fps...

My advice to all. This game pegs the CPU as soon as you launch it. Utilize gamebooster or any other utility to make sure every process or service not necessary is OFF. You need every bit of energy and if the M11X was the ENTERPRISE, I swear you could hear SCOTTY yelling "CAPTAIN IM GIVIN HER ALL SHE'S GOT!:... Take Care, StevenX

yeah I noticed DAO in Denerim is where it had the most trouble, but more so was loading times got lengthy and weird in these areas. But there's definitely a memory leak in DAO. Noticed it a lot since I did a couple marathon sessions the past weekend to beat it. Had to quit and reboot if I was playing longer than 2-3 hours at a time to help with laggyness and load times. SSD helps load times a lot though!

Yes sir... SSD is key in this laptop. Since we dont have a monster cpu we need two things to make up for it. Nvidia 335mgt and a decent SSD.
My DAO loads up smooth and incredibly fast. No lags no waits just pure butter. Take Care, StevenX

Thomas - I would be careful using the word "crack". Games from steam can normally be backed up with an executable. Most games will put registry entries in windows so its not just a matter of copying a game from one computer to another. My advice would be to install the game from disc or steam correctly. Best Wishes, Stevenx

Been playing AoE III for the last couple of days, runs absolutely excellent. Everything is maxed out and it runs completely smooth with a very small drop in frames with 100+ units on screen. Incredible performance, even though dated AoE III is a very demanding game maxed out.
