Is this online gaming? Have you gotten any errors with Punkbuster? if not, which drivers are you using?

Hey guys just letting you know that the Vindictus Closed Beta was opened today and I happen to be in it. Just letting you know that the game runs fairly smoothly at around 30-40 fps on high settings. It's also a great game :D

Curious, will someone with an R2 try the Mafia II demo? It runs awesome on my Asus G73, but is a total struggle on my M11x R1. Very curious if the i7 helps at all. On low I'm averaging a D-E rating, getting a 22-25fps score.

    Thanks!

Also just ran the Mafia II benchmark on the R1 and I averaged 29.7fps using gamebooster (I also followed most of the instructions in the R1 optimization thread). Everything set to Low or Off at 1200x720. During the actual demo I noticed some slowdown when driving around the city and a little mouse lag (I'm assuming? Maybe it was just low fps) inside the building at the beginning.

Still debating whether or not to get this for PC or the 360 when it comes out. If I could squeeze an extra 5-10fps that would tip the scales but I'm not sure if that's even possible.

I'd also love to hear how the R2 runs it.

I will try the Mafia 2 demo tomorrow on the M11x R2. I played it on my 360 and the game looks great...I don't think the M11x can pull of those types of visuals. If it struggles to run on medium than i'll just get it on the 360.

Anyone playing Everquest on this little bugger? I decided to revisit an old addiction. Having trouble getting the 335 to kick in for this one however.

All other games work fine, just not this one. Thinking it could be an age thing for this game.

    Any advice?

everquest 2 just went free 2 play, so you could download and play that for free. I imagine it should run decently on m11x. EQ2, is also quite a good game, that was in a rough situation.

Lord of the Rings Online is F2P now for that matter. Check that out as well!

Also Global Agenda! But you still have to buy the game, but there is no monthly fee anymore!

So ok with Fallout 3. Reading up on many other forums of people with new win7 core i7 systems who are experiencing exactly the same issues. Either game crashes to desktop as soon as you attempt to start a new game (looks like it begins to load) or alternatively pretty much freezes shortly afterwards.

Tried the RAM fix, altered the .ini to force it to use just 2 cores (threads) and still no joy for me.

I'm still on stock drivers (and would prefer not to update gpu drvs since I play bc2).

Any m11x r2's out there on stock that have run the game perfectly? (This is the DVD ROM version).

    Cheers, Paul.

EDIT - I've also noticed, which I'm sure is driver related, is that the Steam UI does not display the maximise/minimise and exit icons in the top right of each UI window. (random I know)

Oh true - I would buy a desktop with I7 and 8 gb ram, ssd, dual 480s or 5870s and you should be set to play WOW.

Ya know, the M11x should be able to play WoW.
While I hear that the M11x R2 has issues with the GPU not kicking in, the M11x R1 should do well.

Probably something to do with how the game has been programmed.
    That or Nvidia Optimus.
You must be aware, Optimus only came earlier this year and it is still relatively new. Because of that, quite a few games still have issues with Nvidia Optimus. At the same time though, I would have half expected Nvidia fix this issue by now, as WoW is an awfully big game...

    Just ordered my M11Xr2 i7.

Was wondering if anyone with some time could do me a favour and download Istaria Chronicles of the Gifted Trial from the website and tell me how it performs because that is the game i play at the moment.

On paper the M11x should smoke it but we all know how reality vs on paper turns out.

The trial should take only about 30-40mins to download/install get in game and play i would really appreciate if anyone could give this a go.

    Trial link http://community.istaria.com/pg.php/download

Tested Istaria on my M11x R2 i5. Merely 10 minutes or so running arund.
I can't see any reason for you to worry though. You will have to add the game to the white list, atleast I had to.

Your M11x will run the game super :)

No overclocking, turned off speedboost, energy theme is balanced and running on battery. (I installed the game and patched it with high performance theme.)

The game ran ok, with the highest settings I could find under video options. I could think it even was bettter than ok, bu I have nothing to compare with. Never played the game, dont have an fps meter and so on. (I don't care that much how much the fps goes up to, games are either playable, almost playable, or not playable.)

This thing runs Borderlands like a beast. It looks like you've got the R2 i7, like me, so you'll have no trouble running it. When I set everything as high as it can go I always get above 30fps.

It's also a really fun game, I definitely recommend a purchase especially for $10.

I found the game really fun. The missions do get a bit repetitive but I still really enjoyed the FPS cross with RPG elements.

Searching for loot and better weapons is very addictive. :D

Ran the Stalker benchmark tool. Got good results except on SunShafts. So what does that mean? Is that a setting I can turn off, or will I hit some level that would run like the SunShafts benchmark? All the other ones were over 30fps on Extreme with full lighting. So what should I take from that?

it runs smooth but when theres a lot of people around fighting the fps drops to like 10-15. I thnk my video settings were at fastest frame rate or whatever in the video options which is what it recommended. Anything higher and it was pretty choppy.

Running Stalker original here on my R1 @1.73ghz on High settings. Very smooth. I strongly recommend downloading the Stalker Complete 2009 mod which fixes a bunch of bugs and tweaks the graphics nicely. Get it here:
STALKER Complete 2009 Release news - Mod DB

Stalker COP seems a little harder on the machine, but with some tweaking I'm sure it will get simillar results.
