265.xx and 266.xx arnt really compatible with GTA IV for some reason. Go back down to 260.xx if you want to game properly with it :)

Thank you for the reply :)

So is that a case of just downloading them and doing the install with the clean install option?

A friend of mine got an r1 and said that Starcraft (Not sure 1 or 2) and WoW gives him bad lag. I don't play those games so can anyone give me any hints as to what might be wrong with his r1? I know he OC'ed to 1.73 ghz and and has his GFX enabled, so there's no way this guy should be under insane lag.

Anyone else having issues running L4D2 with the shaders set to 'high?' The game crashes every time I set it other than medium? L4D1 runs fine with it set to 'high.'

i think so. the lighting on the gun models looks too weird and it just kicked me back to the desktop. i changed everything other than that and it works fine now.

@thegh0sts: Bioshock 2 works superbly with high settings on my R1. Your drivers must somehow be incompatible.

I havent seen much on League of Legends here, so everyone knows. I'm getting about 50-60 FPS outside of battle, and I drop to about 30 while fighting in a lane with 2-4 champions.

    My specs:
    Core2 duo, not OC'd
    2gb RAM
    160 HDD

Will it run stable if overclocked? If so, you might want to try that. I know it's not the same type of game, but SC2 ran pretty poorly on my system until I overclocked it. It kept dipping down to 15ish fps before the overclock in 2v2s but now it never seems to drop below 25 afterwards.

Hah, well. A low of 30 FPS is good for me. My desktop is 10 years old and won't run games nearly this good. I'm going to keep it this way for awhile.

    Also, I should note.
All settings are maxed except shadows which are turned off

This is a problem with the nvidia 266.58 drivers. Roll back to the 260.99 drivers to fix the problem. Left 4 Dead 2 will run max settings very well.

Therein lies the million dollar question :) We have no clue. An engineer over at Dell named Chris says that Dell is working on some new stock drivers, but nvidia releases drivers much more frequently.

the real answer is that we don't know. Could be a month, could be 6 months.

Aww that sucks. ATI/AMD seems to release a new set once a month. Was hoping that nvidia did the same.

If you want my advice, definitely stick with the 260.99 drivers. Granted I get a little better framerates with the newer ones, but the shader problem with Left 4 Dead was a deal killer for me. I'm waiting for the next batch of drivers, hopefully they'll fix some of these problems.

    The 6GB demo? I´ll pass....

I played Dragon Age 2 demo, the game runs awesome in my m11x R2, High settings, 1366x768 with 2xAA at 30-40fps, I have not made more tests, maybe I can put better AA or settings, but the game looks awesome at those I listed, I did a video with fraps and is in process in youtube...

    Edit: Now with the video:

are you overclocked? I'm not getting the same results at all. Also if you're using DX9, your settings are locked at "medium" ... won't let you set at "high" or "very high" for some reason.

No OC, but I´m using TS, about the medium locked settings, make sure you are using the Nvidia card, I also started the game with the intel card, and it was locked at medium all settings, and actually the game runs decent for a integrated card, then I run it again with the nvidia card and now I could change the settings to high and ad AA...

Yeah I don't know what's going on. I've whitelisted both the launcher.exe and the game's .exe but it says the only way I can use high settings is if I use DX11.

DX11 causes my framerate to plummet to 15 FPS... and DX9 results in about 30-50 FPS on medium.

I am also using TS... so either this game isn't using the nvidia card like it should, or I dunno what's going on.

Dragon Age II on the R1 plays great. DX9, everything cranked as high as it will go. Allows me to set it to 'very high', but seems to revert to 'high' when I go back and look at it. Still looks great though. Using the standard Dell hybrid video driver.

Even on medium settings the game looks/runs great - seems like medium = DA1 high settings.

...doubt the M11x will ever get to Very High for DA2. I may still yet have to get my M15x...

Yes, what´s you point? I was using TS at the moment, would now I need to say: "Yes I was using TS with no OC, but I know is useless" in my posts?

My laptop (like some already know) reset the OC after a few restarts, back to 133, so for me is normal that I use TS sometimes at 133...

Well, I´m not from the USA, my english should be not that good...

I always use TS, but like I told you, sometimes when I turn my laptop, is 133, and I do some videos that way, but you are somehow right, I could avoid writing that I use TS, when I´m not OC, since is does not give any boost...
