    gt555m on m11x? i thought the R3 had the 540m ?

They are both good performing card, but the m11x got a poor cooler, so it will throttle after short time with high load. :(

The R3 is the 540M not the 555M GT and never have I seen mine throttle even when running stress tests for 24 hours straight neither my CPU or GPU go above 70oC. The cooling on this model is very good but as the expense of fan noise when under load.

I don't know where you got that info, the M11x runs very cool when properly maintained.

Has anyone tried Ghost Recon Future Soldier on the R3? Seeing that its a newer console port, I'm curious to hear how it runs.

    Sorry, I meant the 540m. Don't know why I wrote 555!

So how about Alan Wake? Searching through the forum shows verying result on the game's performance. Anyone here have first hand experience with it on their M11x?

I'm just curios to see how any m11x model handles dark souls. I really want the game but I don't know if my r2 will be up to snuff.

Tried GW2 on my R1 using my friend's account and it appeared playable. PvE yielded 15-28 FPS with an average of 20-22 - which to me is definitely playable. Playing in a large PvP battlegroup with dozens of different characters did slow my game to <10 FPS, which isn't tolerable. All in all, I'd probably pick this one up, just to level a couple of characters to 80 with my friends. Oh, and ALL settings were set to low - shadows, and AA were turned off completely, the game didn't look bad though.

Mass Effect 3 runs perfectly well on the R1 under the native resolution with AA and shadows turned off.

I'm getting the same sort of experience on my R1. The game is quite CPU intensive which meant I was able to increase my textures, animations and water detail to medium without suffering an FPS drop.

I am, but it doesn't run to smooth on my I5 R2. Lots of hiccups with the framerate. It seemed to run smoother on 301.42 drivers than the most recent ones from Nvidia (306.23).

Anyone have any display settings they'd recommend for Sleeping Dogs?

Looking at the requirements you should have no worries at all about running it. It is understandable people put down the 540M GT because its looks weak on paper but I have not had a game yet that will not run at 1080p even Battlefield 3 runs well so anything is possible. The ULV as well I find games superbly it is no different to a 35 watt I3 mobile CPU.

    Guys,

I've been playing a bit of dishonored and I'm really impressed.

The game looks and plays great.

With all the settings at ON/HIGH and using FXAA instead of MSAA I'm getting steady 60FPS. The lowest I got so far was 48FPS.

I'm using the latest ForceWare 306.23 with Adaptive V-Sync.

    Cheers.

For anyone who plays WoW: MoP on a M11x R3, how does it perform for you?

I have to tune almost every settings down to 'good' to keep it running at 50+ FPS.

Has anyone given Carrier Command: Gaea Mission a try, have just installed it and it runs quite poor, my M11xR3 spec is...i7-2637 & GT540m and 4gb ddr3 my settings are 1280x720 and everything on low, am using 267.21 drivers, I wasn't expecting the game to run this poorly.

Can anyone advise me what to do next, would newer drivers make a difference?.

***Update***. Well it appears I was running on HD 3000 and not the GT540m, game runs fine at 1366x768 getting 30 - 40+ with texture bar in the middle and a mix of other settings.

Lots going on screen and the fillrates will struggle. Consider the R3 it may not seem like a boost but the shaders and higher rates do make a difference. They are going for a mere cheap difference to your selling price of your R2.

How do you get Adaptive V-sync option with 306.23?

iirc it is auto on all:

I think that is only an option on the 301.42 WHQL Driver that you linked to. I installed 306.23 and hoped to try that option but it is not listed in the nVidia driver settings.

Here is the latest gen on 306.23.

    Quote " User Experience Enhancements
The reaction to NVIDIA Control Panel FXAA has been fantastic. Gamers are enjoying jaggie-free games without the massive performance impact of MSAA, and are taking advantage of the feature in games that lack anti-aliasing options. However, when users enabled FXAA globally they found that certain applications, like Windows Live Mail, were being anti-aliased also, making text unreadable. To rectify this issue we are now disabling FXAA’s use in the programs identified, but if there are more that need blocking do let us know and we’ll add them to the exclusion list.

On the GeForce GTX 670, 680 and 690, some users identified an occasional micro-stutter when gaming with VSync or Adaptive VSync enabled. For most this wasn’t noticeable, but we take any issue that detracts from a user’s enjoyment of our products very seriously, and have introduced a fix that will improve the smoothness of VSync gaming.

When using GeForce 3xx drivers and factory-overclocked graphics cards from our partners, some users received poor levels of performance, a result of the graphics card’s clock speed being reduced to idle levels. As with the VSync issue above, this problem is also rectified by the new GeForce 306.23 WHQL drivers."

Not sure how it is enabled, however l just let Nvidia Control panel sort it out.

    Regards.

    C.

    Nvidia 301.42 user

Skyrim plays pretty good on the R1. I get about 30-40 fps with most things on medium and one or two on low native res with no aa of course.

I can even hook it up on my 1080p screen and play it pretty good as well 30 fps or so with more lows than mediums.

XCOM runs greatly on my R2, so there's no reason your R3 couldn't handle it :) I really enjoy every minutes I spent on that game

How about the new medal of honor? Anyone tried this? I also found out a vid on youtube but it was quite a long time ago

The R1 can run Dishonored on native resolution with medium settings fantastically well. I'm getting around 25-35FPS which is amazing considering how good the game looks.
