Well I have no idea where mine is at that the moment. EDD is still showing as the 1st Dec
UPS shows updates from Shanghai then Cologne then Shanghai then Cologne then Shanghai then Korea then Cologne and some have even disappeared from the tracking page.
I have no idea when to expect it

I noticed that you get more detail when you look on your 'account summary' page. On the account summary page it says "Delivery Preparation"..which is probably like your boxing, and when I go to the actual order status, it still says "In Production"
Just so you know, my order has said "Delivery Preparation" for 2-3 days now. I think it's just BS to keep us at bay and not call them.
Update: I just called the number, and they say "We are currently preparing your order to be shipped." I'm not sure if that's before boxing, or after boxing...but whatever the hell it is, it's been taking them over 2 days lol... -
That would suck. I've not heard the "We are currently preparing your order to be shipped" message, only the "In production, in the Boxing Phase" message. I'm going to go check out that account summary page you speak of.

When you sign in, you should see a little box with your current orders on the top right of the screen. From the Dell main website, click sign in on the upper right hand corner, then click 'my account' in the upper right hand corner. Once signed in, here is the link:

On that screen it says "Preparing for Shipment", but if I click on it for further details, it still says "In Production". According to the help on the Dell website "Preparing for Shipment" isn't even a valid status. Interesting...I guess they pull from different status databases. -
Yeah - found that. Just says "In production".
I'm going to update my router settings to bar visits to that website for a few more days. Continually anxiously refreshing the status page isn't healthy and certainly isn't helping my productivity levels. -
I'm at a point that if it isn't shipped by tommorow it's not going to make it to my house for the scheduled delivery date. If that's the case I'm just going to canncel my order at end of business Friday and order elseware.

Where did your order ship from? You posted that yours was at Shipping Prep (like me) yesterday. I thought they shipped from TN or Texas, or China or something. Did you chose next day delivery?

If they don't deliver my order by dec 10, i am going to cancel my purchase and try to find one locally or buy some other gaming laptop, ha. -
My order was sort of an inpulse buy in the first place - I don't really nead it. The more time that passes, the more likely that I am to cancel lol.

But the estimated delivery is still the same 12/10 and under shipping information it says "in transit."

They will require a digital signature from the person who ordered the product as most couriers do. It won't appear in your mailbox or anything lol. It will be shipped to your door and someone will have to pick it up or if no one is at home, they will attempt to deliver it another day. If it says "shipped" then it has passed the in-production, manufacturing and boxing stages and is on its way to a courier service from there on it will be transported to a postal facility. Dell reserves the funds from your credit card company ahead of time and charges it right after they ship it. So technically, your credit card is in a way charged as it has reserved funds for the purchase. For example, if you have a credit limit of 2,000 dollars and bought the m11x for 1,300 but decide to go to the store a day after and purchase a HDTV for 1,200, the credit card won't allow it as most of the funds were already reserved for the m11x and you would be exceeding your credit limit. The only way to have dell pull this reserved grasp restriction off your credit card is to simply cancel your order. The shipping costs are combined from your original invoice, so no, regardless of whether they decide to ship the bag alone or together, you wont be "over-charged." Rest assured, you have nothing to worry about, just be patient and it will get there on its own time.
They ship all other peripherals and bags alone, they shipped my m11x portfolio case by itself which arrived about 3 days before. -
Mine also said it was shipped last night via FedEx. Of course, it's not being shipped from the distribution center 10 miles away from me. My ETA is Tuesday.
This whole 'Production time' bothers me. My system wasn't customized, and I'm led to believe that it's all a snow-job because it's easier to warehouse their stuff in Asia.
I ordered my upgraded harddrive and memory from Newegg, and got all of that this past Tuesday.
Reminds me why I haven't ordered anything from Dell in 8 years. -
I have the same frustrations Wildrage. Mine was ordered the same time as you guys but alas it's still "in production" and I didn't customize a damn thing. The cd drive and Momentus XT drives are sitting on my desk, and have been for 3 days now, just waiting.

When I track my order (I got an e-mail saying it was shipped 3:30 this morning), the FedEx website says that it received the billing information / anticpated ship date was 11/30, however, it still has not received the package.
I'm guessing I might get it as early as today, or as late as Tuesday. I only say today because I've experienced situations where the tracking information is only updated once it is delivered.

I ordered mine on 11/26. It shipped out on 12/2 and on dell estimated time of delivery is on the 8th but the tracking number says it will be delivered on the 4th, tomorrow a Saturday by fedex.

Still nothing here - still "in production". getting really pissed now since so may of you that also ordered on the 26th and the 28th either have yours or have shipping confirmation. Fairly certain something's up.

Well just called again on the Alienware number. Tried two different options to connect to a human and in both cases got transferred to India who insisted it will ship on the 7th December "because of customization options". I chose no customization options.
I insisted on speaking to American and got told they can't transfer me.
I love Alienware as a brand, but honestly Dell customer and order support sucks and is reason enough to think twice before ordering from them again. -
i ordered mine on 11/28 and it's been shipped already, sorry to hear about your delays.
The problem with me is that i am happy and all that its been shipped, but i have not received a courier tracking number yet, and it has been saying "in transit" for the past few hours, so i am guessing it will be like that until the next business day which is Monday and i will end up getting it sometime next week.
Hang in there though, i am sure you will get it sooner or later, but on the other hand, i must admit this that i am happy that mine has at least passed the in-production stage! Now that was something i was worried about lol.
I have NOT received any shipping information as of yet! Hope that makes you feel better lol =o)

I don't get angry because they transfer me to India - I get angry because the people in India can do absolutely nothing to help the customer. I think the only thing that they are authorized to do is repeat what we can already see on the website (often times verbatem), and argue with us until we give up, or just hang up. Completely useless.

Indeed i agree, but a lot of companies have transferred their call center businesses to India in the past few years, it is cheaper, labor is cheap, the company does not have to pay a good wage to the workers there as compared to in north america since most of the people in India would agree to live with a 2 dollar per hour/day pay check. It is indeed sad and sometimes pisses me off. By shipping their business out of the country they are giving more job opportunities to foreign people in different countries than people who really need these jobs in North America. So basically instead of helping the people who live here by giving them jobs, they are transporting jobs over seas so that the company can save their gross budget. Very sad. They should keep these jobs where they actually tend to belong. And even besides that fact, talking to someone who is half way across the world, and has never even seen your product is giving you advices on what you should or should not do lol, very hilarious. I laugh a lot when they tell me, "sir, your machine is on the way" well DUH, lol, i know this by checking my account page and tracking info, so in a way it is pretty awkward and plain stupid.

I ordered mine on the 26th and received the shipping notice yesterday (Thursday) with anticipated delivery of Dec. 7th. The FedEx website still doesn't have any tracking info, though the notice of shipping says to wait up to 3 days for tracking info to appear... I don't mind, just very impatient.

Do they ship on weekends? I ordered mine on 11/28 and received a notice yesterday that is been shipped but with no courier or tracking information.

I didn't know they shipped on saturday, but my fedex tracking number says tomorrow it will be here (4th). Dell says the 8th which isnt even close to the 4th. I checked fedex site, they deliver on saturdays.

I wouldn't worry about that. I went back through my old posts on here to relieve a similar nightmare I went through with the M15X. They said shipped on the website a good few hours before I got any tracking information and then FedEx took their sweet time to even recognize that they had a package to deliver.

This fool in alienware dell chat is telling me to call the shipping company when i don't even know which shipping company is being used by dell as they never identified that on my account tracking page. Such worthless and pathetic customer service dell has. -
hey guys, my order date was 11/27/2010 at around 5am in the morning but it's still in production. Is this normal? it actually says in my order details that the estimated delivery is the 27th of DECEMBER!!!!! what gives!? all i upgraded from the r1 was hard drive to 250 and ram to 4. is this because i bought the laptop over the phone instead of online? i'll be really sad if i can't use my m11x over winter break!

The simple answer to the question is Alienware rocks, Dell Suck the dangly things that can be found underneath a piggies squiggly tail. Nothing you can do about it, customer support don't have a care in the world about you and all you can do is wait to be, at some point, honored and graced that Dell actually deigned to deal with your order and the money you spent.

Ordered 11/26 and out for delivery right now. It didn't end up getting to FedEx until yesterday. Luckily I live 20 miles from Dells distribution center in New Jersey, and luckily FedEx delivers on Saturday

Lol mine said this morning delivery on 4th, out for delivery. It still says on fedex vehicle for delivery but they just changed delivery date to the 7th oO. Hopefully they still plan to deliver it today.
