Looks like they just sent out a whole bunch. Mine shipped too. EDD 6/29.
Just curious..If I'm not home when it comes, how long does the post office hold it for? -
For some reason I can't check the status of my order today when it was working fine yesterday ( was at the manufacturing stage ). Has this happened to anyone else before?
-
Happened to me, they re-entered the order because incompatibility between components
. I had to call and they sent me a new orden.
-
I can see it again now. Still the same status.

I am looking into this laptop with the i5. My t61p is giving up on me for the third time and it's time for something new for everyday use.
With the i5 build-in, this laptop might be it. Good for normal tasks (igp) and when I want to play a game of starcraft 2 (only game I will play) I will connect it to my 22inch monitor and switch to 335m gpu..
But I have to ask, what is the catch? It's performance is much better than other 15,4 inch gaming laptops in it's price class and still it's much smaller. What am I missing, why isn't everybody buying this laptop?
Is it not durable or something? Glossy screen putting everyone off? Does it get really hot? -
whats everyone's operating temp while gaming?
-
I would guess mostly price tag. Most 15" that can perform this well would probably be a tad cheaper.
-
Whats up with this new Acer 3820TG or something? It seems to be faster (CPU AND GPU) and has a bigger screensize, as well as having a (claimed) 8 hour battery life, but it somehow weighs less than the M11X?
-
The acer 3820tg is a timelinex series acer laptop. It isnt available yet in the us. You can get it with the ati 5650 mobility card and some have goton them with the i7 720m processors quad core processors, but at as of right now the i5 is only avaiable. You can replace the i5 with the i7 though. With the i7 coupled with the ati 5650 there have been some ground breaking 3dmark06 scores for the size of this laptop witch is 13.3 inches. The design of it isnt real spectacular, and the screen i think is only avaiable in 1366 by 768.
-
I'm more concerned that it is somehow more powerful in every regard while still being able to be lighter (Portable) than the M11X. Am I missing something?
-
^ I dunno it kind of looks really cheap. Maybe just a lot of cheap plastic for lightweight? I love the power and the size though.. but no backlit keyboard and Acer = non that interested.
-
Agreed, I have had an acer and never again!
The keyboards are awful, the screens are usually subpar and the build quality is not usually upto much. And dont get me started on the bloatware and lack of driver updates! -
Been using Acer for work and have including staff about 6 new laptops. 4736 & 4740 models... seem ok so far on build quality and screen.
Are those models BETTER than my M11x? No, but then again I havent had to have the Acers serviced yet like the AW
-
yeah I saw people do keyboard flex mod.. one with double sided tape all below to stop flex.. umm no thanks. If you're into DIY then the Acer can certainly be up to par on quality and features.. like install backlit keyboard and fix the flex..
-
Mmmm I guess the M11x is heavy cause its "reinforced". Well I'm still on the M11x bandwagon then.
-
i was also surprised at the weight of the m11x. 4.5 lbs is heavy for an 11.6" notebook, the Dell 11z with the same 11.6" HD display weighs 3 lbs.
Too me it feels real sturdy, i haven't received it yet but i played around with one at microcenter. -
when I first received my R1 I thought it was heavy! but it is rock solid. I am so used to it now I dont even notice (unless I pick up my wifes ul30)
-
The backlit keyboard did it for me. I would look at other powerful ultra-portable systems, but I am tired of tilting the screen down a bit so it lights up my keyboard when I need to type on my netbook (the viewing angles are not that great, so I would lose image quality to light up my keys in the dark).
The backlit keyboard, the power to play most games, and it should fit nicely on an airplane tray and have enough battery power to make the flight. This is what I expect from the M11x. Now if it would just hurry up and ship...
-
lift weights...problem solved for the heavy laptop sigh
-
I pretty much have the exact same reasoning as you, and I love your avatar. <3 Olivia Munn

Thanks. -
There was an error in the manual that we didn't catch. The M11xR2 is still just 10/100, as is the M11xR1. We'll be correcting the manuals as quickly as possible. Apologies for this errata.
-
Someone else asked me that re. the network adapter side of things... although if I remember rightly the website specs noted it was only 10/100 in any case. Either way I was aware of the limitation prior to purchasing one way or the other!
I have one of the M11x R2's and its a very nice thing indeed. I have posted some info on my playing with the NVidia Optimus side of things so far if its of any use to anyone...
M11x R2 Optimus
Very pleased and impressed so far to say the least. Will be posting somewhere in a couple of days with some benchmarks, OC results etc. Plus of course pictures. Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions about the laptop from a usage perspective...
i7 640UM
4GB RAM
Intel HD video device
NVidia GT 335M
250GB HDD
WLAN (no bluetooth)
Side note while I remember: Beware anyone in the UK who doesn't know, but you won't be able to use the built in SIM card slot. Even in the US it requires an additional purchase I believe.

I am a little disappointed with the lack of full bore reviews of the R2.
I'd expect a bit more enthusiasm from this community. -
Where's yours? I'm pretty disappointed.
-
I have done over fifty, I think I can sit this one out.
-
Still holds. I'd like to see full reviews as well but I'm not going to complain about something I'm not doing myself. Might be of better taste to request one.
-
Does anyone know what status indicator lights there are? What I mean by that is there is a status indicator light for wireless that is obviously turned on when wireless is turned on. On some pictures I see a two status indicator lights on the top left hand edge, whereas my m11xr2 has only the one status indicator for wireless. Is ther other one for 3g wireless?
-
I have the R1 and the second lil blue light for that comp is the caps lock light, hope this helps
-
Dude anyone having this horrible dimming LCD issue? It's pissing me off. Regardless of what I change it keeps dimming.
-
might be something to do with your power settings? on ac or batt? dont think i experience this. it will only dim when running on battery to conserve more juice and will brighten on ac. thats what i have in my power setting.
PS: also forget to state one thing is that if i leave the machine idle and not touch it at all screen will dim too. that is actually normal as once you start working on laptop the actual brightness will come back. definitely it wont go dim while i working on it half way thru. -
ya the auto dim, go into the command center and adjust it, i beleive you can put a longer time before it dims and/or turn it off all together
-
It must be something in the command center.
-
I've never dinked with Fusion settings, but shouldn't they mirror whatever you set in 7's own power plan settings?
-
Yeah that's the stupid part is that it doesn't mirror.
