Nvidia 265.90 M11xR2 - Community Built Drivers (Punkbuster Fix?)

265.90 Community Built Version 3 - In Testing
New Files - Updatus eliminated, New Display.Update (NVIDIA Update) and Display.Optimus (Optimus) modules with new/updated files.
INF Updated - Many settings changed and a few new. (had the registering of optimusmft dead on but had some of the settings a bit off)

All in all I don't expect it to be much different performance wise than what people are already using, it is just a more up to date and proper package now. Control Panel disappearing issue may be fixed.

Nautis, could you post a link to the V3 test version? I'd like to see if this could fix my problem.

Tnx again for your continuous effort.

With this driver, xfire will not load. It just shows a black box instead of the console.

I'm about to test the universal 265.90 driver with BF:BC2 and MOH.

I won't do any overclocking though, I have GPU-z to monitor temps. Will report anything I find Nautis~

    Sorry for the double post~

Nautis, my test reviles, NO MORE PUNKBUSTER KICKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've played for almost 2 full hours and on 3 different servers with PB enabled. I didn't get kicked from any of them

    Card: Geforce GT 420m
    max Load: 99%
    max temp: 79.0c
    min temp:45.0c to 49.5c

The temperature isn't too good, but the game ran great on medium settings. No lag spikes at all, everything was flush. I didn't OC anything, its all at factory defaults. I'm hopping that your next update will reduce the temperature output a bit :p. 79C scares me a little...

Aside from that, awesome work man. I'm able to finally game on BF:BC2 and MOH for a while until nvidia decides to get off their arses and release their own driver.

DaneGRClose has some other findings for me to look at. He has just gone through some extremely thorough testing of various settings and things. I would rather not have 20 different versions for people to try so I am going to wait on his report.

Interesting. I wonder if with Version 3 of this it will work. The 265.66 INF has shown me a few more settings that I was missing and is more complete with newer update portions.

Sounds great Fluffy. Glad you got the PM. Looking forward to hearing how it works on non M11xR2s. :)

    EDIT:

Yeah always got to be careful and weary about heat. Glad they seem to be working for you for the most part. Which notebook do you have? I hope Version 3 will be able to take care of some of the issues but your notebook may need some specific settings.

People continuously mistake that just because an INF has a GPU model in it that means it will work properly for their notebook/card. The GT335M in the Asus INF is for a GT335M in a specific Asus notebook. While it may work, there are probably many settings customized specifically to that notebook.

People seem to be having much lower scores with 265.66 and it is dated a bit older. It seems to be from a different (newer?) build though.

    Official r265_00 265.90 dvstest
    r265_00-177

    Official r265_36 265.66 dvstest
    r265_36-42

But yes I already have a 265.90/265.66 mixed build uploaded for testing.

So if I have a medion akoya P6624 notebook, this 265.66 driver won't work for me?

I have to wait for the official nvidia driver then? or wait for the notebook manufacturer (medion) to release an update?

    thx

Hey guys just a casual gamer still in high school, slowly paying off my m11x that i bought in july, but I'm very much pleased to have people like you around on the forums helping people like me out. I play games like BC2, Black ops, MOH, L4D, and GTA4, and this will help me out so much, so i can play all of them when i feel like it without all the fuss of reinstalling the 187.89 driver then back to the 260- drivers.

Thank you guys so much. I always check the forums for any problems as well with the laptop that may be fixable. :)

Well, this driver fixes most lag issues with FFXI, like promised. I can even type on the internet while looking at the Jeuno pile. Great work.

It does seem to be running considerably warmer. TStop was showing 56 temp with 260.99 and spiked at 78 before crashing my game with this driver. Uninstalled/Sweep/Clean install. Don't know if there's anything I can do to cool the laptop back down.

    UPDATE2: GTA4 as i just tried is not recognizing the 335m...the driver won't provide for GTA4 :(?

be sure PB is updated (I believe there was a recent patch). If still having issues, reinstall BC2 and re-run the PB updater after install.

    See if that helps.

It's been set for "middle of this week" like 8 times or something ridiculous now, at least they have an actual date this time...

Would still like to see blinking resume and older games not being able to kill process go away

EDIT: Just clean installed v2 drivers, opened up control panel and noticed that suddenly under the PhysX section it shows both "Laptop Display" and "Syncmaster" (My Samsung 2333HD). There has never been more than one screen displayed there for me. Usually I don't run extended desktop as I am now, but you'd think it would have said "Syncmaster" or "External Display" every other time because I spend 90% of my time hooked into the external display. Just a curious change.

Has anyone gotten these drivers to work with Pro Evolution Soccer 2011? This game used to work great for me but now it detects the 335m but it thinks it is only 64 mb. As a result the game will only allow me to run it at bare minimum settings and i was able to max it out before.

EDIT: And what clock/shader/etc. setting are you guys running? Sorry this is kinda off-topic... never did find an answer to this question

Admittedly, that FSB is not stable and gets the random BSOD. Ashamedly, I don't know how to turn a web page into a JPEG and upload it here. But bottom line, the driver rocks.

I'm looking forward to testing it tonight with Battlefield:Vietnam

if you wonder about official nvidia drivers ...

Optimus issues with Punkbuster - NVIDIA Forums - Page 12

Sorry guys. The driver was pushed back to the first week of January. I deeply again express my sorrow for the delay in getting a driver out to you all. The was a necessary delay. The driver which was to be released will no longer be the driver which be made available. Instead, a much better newer driver which was to become the WHQL driver will be released instead. It will still be marked as beta but also WHQL candidate until it comes back to us with digital signatures.

For what it is worth - these drivers didn't help out my M11x R2. BFBC2 chugged along at unplayable levels (almost like it was not using the best graphics driver, despite being "told to"), and Medieval II Total War (best mods ever) also played terribly.

I'm not blaming anyone in the community, as these community drivers are helping out a great many people. I rolled back to some 260.xx variants which play every game except BFBC very well.

Keep up the good work people, one bad apple (me) doesn't mean the hard word hasn't helped.
