on a side note I want to let everyone know that this driver is still newer than what Nvidia have release recently the 266.35. not saying that this is a better driver given its newer but its an open choice for you guys which you think run better for you that is more impt.
I will also be looking into 266.35's inf to see if I need to further optimize the inf for my mod, if so I will release a V2 for it. Thanks for the support![]()
I decide to update this release as I found a way to fix the wrong version displayed in the uninstall program. Package is already up. More details will be updated in the first post when the upload is done.![]()

Version 2 of 266.44 has been release. Recommend those who have the first one installed to update with this release. Enjoy.... -
-
So am I correct in assuming that all I have to do is download and install V2 of this driver? And there is no modding an inf. I am currently still running 257.30

These drivers greatly improved my Bad Company 2 FPS!

Hey Kopicha, I am getting an error saying that the driver version isn't for my version of windows, like its for a 32-bit system or something, am I doing something wrong? Also the Intel driver you posted seems to be for 32-bit system unless I am doing something wrong there as well (the Intel site has it listed as a 32-bit)
Thanks! -
I installed the version 2 of this driver and have good and bad news. With Bad Company 2 in the single player I have added around 15FPS, but when I try and find servers the game shuts down and says the game has stopped working. Any suggestions?
-
tried version 2, but when I try to play bfbc2 it just keeps loading. same thing when I try to get into a game on multiplayer, just keeps loading
-
-
For the Intel It could have been my mistake. Thanks for pointing that out. I just edited the link. -

Before switching to V1. I would like the both of you to try reinstall the V2 again. But I need both of you to perform a driver sweep this time round.
get Driversweeper from here if you dont have it.
Uninstall all Nvidia related components from your Uninstall Programs then reboot your machine.
After the Alien Head screen press F8 to for windows boot menu and select Safe Mode.
Launch your Windows explorer and look up for program files and program files(x86) and delete the Nvidia folder you find in there.
Run DriverSweeper and remove all Nvidia components and reboot when prompt to do so.
Install the 266.44 and try your game again.
PS: I notice this could be isolated to the 2 of you as I have other ppl reporting BFBC2 working fine online with V2 -

let me get this right. So at the moment, I'm on V1. So you want me to reinstall V2, then go into the uninstall programs and uninstall all the nvidia stuff and reboot. then get into safe mode and uninstall the nvidia folder in the x86 and run driversweeper and reboot. then intall v2 again?

PS: its quite unexplainable when I look at your problem that you said V2 dont work but revert to V1 is ok. Technically this should not be related to the video driver. Because only 2 scenario should happen. Either the game completely wont launch or it will launch but will kick you out when attempt online (PB Issue) or if you can launch and no PB kick then game should work fine. I cant really explain why V1 is ok for you but not V2. But I will give BFBC2 a try with V2 for both campaigne and online personally later when I get home from work to verify that.
If you have the steam version of BFBC2 I do suggest to take an additional step to try verify the integrity of your game client too. -

Ok so I tried all of your suggestions and re-installed version 2, and the game still quits running on me. Its stops directly after i sign into EA account when it says "loading your stats". Should I now try version 1? I have not tried them yet, if so would i need to use driver sweeper or chose clean install option?
Thanks for your help in advance! -

No, Firewall is not the issue. But I don't think it is a driver issue either. I will tinker and see if there is anything that works, aside from BFBC2 multiplayer not working all other games are amazing.

I feel that this is one of the best mod driver I have release so far after 189.79 and 258.96. This driver actually perform pretty well. -
kopicha said: ↑understand... but honestly imo the importance of this driver is to fix the PB issue. if this dont work for BFBC2 there is no point for me to work hard on modding the driver and we can just continue using 260.99 till Nvidia come up with something better. Thats why I am also pretty eager to see what is wrong and hopefully it's something within my ability to fix and so everyone can benefit from it. nonetheless later when I get back home I will try out BFBC2 personally on both SP and MP and report back here on the result as I am running on V2 personally

josh roberts said: ↑So this driver works for me now. I uninstalled my nvidia driver and physx from the programs and features section. Restarted my computer, another driver installed itself randomly and i uninstalled that too. Then rebooted in to safe mode and deleted nvidia folders from program filles and (x86). Ran driver sweeper. Then rebooted and d-l the version 2 driver and it runs great.Click to expand...

These drivers work great for me, I can finally play CivV in Dx11 mode!
Hopefully this solves the freezing issue with the card, but I haven't had a chance to full test it out yet, but will keep you updated. -
Anyone else having problems getting a stable oc with these drivers?

Bah sadly I've had the driver freeze up on me while running League of Leagues twice, so the problem still remains

Sadly I have, where the game locks up and I can't even force close the .exe, forcing me to hard reset, it's cost me a few matches
-
Are you overclocking the gpu? i am sorry for that cause it works perfectly on my comp with 266.44
-
I think this driver might be the issue behind my system locking up while playing both BC2 and Minecraft. It's weird though because it is random when it happens. It can happen after only 15min. of playing or after 2-3 hours of playing.
EDIT: oh yea, and this is without OC the GPU because I can't seem to get a stable OC that doesn't result in a lockup. -
Doesn't matter if I OC or if I don't, it just occurs randomly, sometimes I can go through several matches fine, whereas sometimes it occurs in back to back matches.
-
Singh what laptop do you have?
-
Alienware M11x R2... considering that these drivers are for it.

CPU is OC'ed, however I have tried both with it OC'ed and at stock and it still occurs.
Currently I am not using throttlestop either. -
does it matter which bios you have? does that effect optimus in anyway.
-
i have not experience lock up in anything i ran do far either. also this is the only driver that ran Global Agenda fine. 265.89, 265.90, 265.35 and 266.45 all crash on launch. for those of you who experience crash. i suggest 2 things.
1. try to reinstall the driver from clean state. meaning driver sweep and manual deletion of nvidia folder from program files folder.
2. run some tool to monitor your gpu temperature and log it. see if the temperature goes really high before it crashes.
if you have a laptop cooler, might want to try running your machine with and without to see if there is any differences in the work load temperature. -
Well for the driver install I made sure to have it as a clean install, so I don't believe that is an issue.
As for temperature, I will keep an eye on the issue, and possibly buy a cooler if need be. -
My temps stayed around 69-71 w/o GPU OC and I get the lockups. I have a CPU OC @ 164 (tried 160) and i also use throttlestop. I have an M11x R2 as well.
-
Ok, probably going to sound like a real dunce but where do you check what drivers the NVidia and intel graphics cards are using???
