Well if you dead set on getting 10k marks yo ucan do what DEEVU did and bench in a lower res but thats not how i did it. He isnt really apart of the 10k club. When I benched I got 1000000 of bsod but kept at it till i broke the 10k mark and even dropped the ram mhz a little.
-
you mean graphics RAM yeah, not system RAM?
-
yes lower the mhz on your ram down from 1080 i benched just alittle higher with 1070-1075 and had fewer crashes

Since this is benchmark thread just wondering what a r2 i5@166 with stock video settings get on 06. I got 6949 on 06 1280 by 768.
-
what was your clock speed?
-
2.1 ghz on one thread 13 multiplier i5-520um. Video card 450/1080/790 stock.
-
Try to push the gpu a little bit cause with my wifes old R1 with just 1.6ghz and the gpu maxed i scored almost 7k. On my friends R2 i7 I pulled 8500 with some room to play with.
-
Can someone do a wprime run on an R3 i7, but with the wprime threads set to 2?
-
Having finally gotten around to updating the spd on my memory I redid the 3DMark06 scores
GPU running at 585/1405/973
With CPU at 164 previous 3DMark06 was 9012
Now with CPU at 175 3DMark06 is up to 9222
While 175 is stable of 3DMark06 and gaming it does fail the IntelBurn test on harder tests, so I run with 172 and a lower GPU OC (generaly hitting 8.5 on 3DMark06) -
is my OC good for an r1? i did the GPU BIOS mod and this is the best i could do
-
3DMark06: 6808
Windows Ratings
Processor: 5,5
Memory: 5,5
Graphics: 5,3
Gaming Graphics: 6,5
Hard Disk: 6,9
What do you guys think?

Alienware M11x R2 with
I5 M 520U stock
GT 335M stock (drivers 280.26)
8Gb DDR3 G-Skill
SSD Kingston V100 128Gb -
Thats some great numbers with the i5 what were you clocked at with it?
-
-
I have a stock R1 (No bios mods, no pinmod, etc). Do the OC speeds on my 335 seem standard for stock in my Sig?
I can't go any higher without them reverting to 300/700/400 or whatever it is... I used MSI Afterburner to OC and MSI Kombuster (DX11) Benchmark tool. -
There is no standard overclocking speed, each laptop is different. Some are able to get over 600 clock speed while some can't even run theirs at stock speed without having issues. I would say your speeds are OK, they are higher than what I am able to get on my R2.

Hi people!
I've been reading this forum for a while but never actually saw this benchmark post! must check for blindness...
Anyway, here are my scores from my other post:
Core 833
Shader 1666
Mem 1090
3Dmark06
1280x768
10186 pts
temp: 59°C
everything's rock solid and artifact free
can anyone tell me if a gpuvolt mod exists for the r3?
cheers. -
good scores now try turning off physics and also use the default setting so your score isnt altered
-
new score here
10234, Not bad -
New M11x R3 owner joining the crowd
3D Mark 11 and 06 scores in sig at stock clocks and with a mild GPU oc @800/1000
Pretty happy i may say. -
-
Don't forget to install 285.62 drivers, mine came with 267.something which were slower.
Also, your i5 base clock is faster than mine, although they both have the same max turboboost, so you may get better scores. -
-
I have no idea, the online reports are usually messed up for some parameters because some components don't seem to be recognized, it happened also to other M11x users who posted their links.
-
That's because you're using an outdated system info and probably you skipped when 3d mark prompted you to update the systeminfo utility.
In the benches from my sig the systeminfo is 4.2 in yours is 3.21 -
Curious, what are the accepted scores for the M11xR2 i7 3dmark06?
It would seem during my gameplay I am noticing some slowdown, but I can't quite tell if it is just me or if my computer is actually running slower. -
Mine arrived today (only been out of the box for about 2 hours) just ran 3dmark06 with stock settings and I got:
8397
CPU: 2421
http://3dmark.com/3dm06/16181870
Pretty happy with it and averaged around 30fps on all GPU tests.
When the fan kicks in you can really tell! It's like it's about to take off or something. Puts my desktop (and almost my hairdryer) to shame! -
I know the feeling
as i have both the G53jw which is almost dead silent then the M11x hairdryer
-
And to answer your question about the i5-2467.. You scored 19 more 3dmarks than me! -
Did you ran it with latest drivers?
If so it means that it runs on turboboost which is the same on both i5, but on anything that can load all 4 cores you will get a plus of perf due to higher base frequency.
Also the scores get some variation... run 3D Mark 3-4 times and keep the best one -
My first test run of Witcher 2 was perfect (with the 2.0 patch) so I'm more than happy with this little beast. BF3 test tonight! -
So I got my R3 and steamed out 8300 3dmark06 scores straight from the box.
What version Intel / nvidia drivers should I be running for best performance?
Alienware M11x-R3 | Intel i5-2467M | 4GB RAM | GT540M 1GB | 250GB HDD -
So I maxed my OC out on my GT 335M on my R1, and figured I would run 3dMark06 to see what I got... 6773 with Gamebooster 3.1 running. I have done no hard mods or anything, just a stock R1 with the GPU OC... then I decided I would try it without Gamebooster running, just to see how much GB3 helped, I got 6777, 4 points higher, strange...
Anyone know why the number would go up without Gamebooster? -
The 3d Mark numbers have some variations. Run it 3-4 times in a row without any modifications in between and you will see.
-
IMO game booster doesnt do much for modern systems with a clean install.
if you dont have a ton of extra junk running you shouldn't notice much of a difference at all. at least thats what ive noticed.
even on my 1201n it only gave me like a 25 point boost at best in 3Dmark06.
i dont even bother running anymore. i figure the CPU cycles it takes to actually run gamebooster is a wash for the cpu cycles it saves disabling all the stuff it does.
just my exp/opinion... -
I want your 3dMark score some guy...
I do not know how to do any hard-mods though -
yea, the hard mod is needed for a score like mine on the R1. if you need help let me know.
with my GPU OC i got about 1000 more over stock and the CPU pinmod gave me about another 1000 pts.
night and day difference from complete stock IMO. aren't many games that arent playable with reasonable settings @ 1366x768..
if it wasnt for the ability to OC the R1 i probably would have upgraded to a R3 by now. -
I need opinions/facts.... I'm nabbing an r3 tomorrow and am going to throw either a vertex 3 max iops or samsung 830 in... For gaming and/or applications like 3d desktop and virtual OS's as i know they utilize a ssd differently... I know gaming, aside level loadimg and opening doesnt quite utilize a drive much minus some writing during game play, but Id like some opinions if possible, or real world experiences with these drives would be greatly appreciated! And one last question, how well does the bluetooth work with one to two devices? An answer from a consistent user of this feature would be greatly appreciated! Particularly the bt of the intel 6230. thanx!
-
If you ask what ssd to take, i'd say go for samsung. Sandforce drives are hit&miss, while Samsung is what Dell and others OEMs use regularly for their computers.

The ssd will make your system seem snappier but should not really affect game performance much.....
-
Then can you tell me if my numbers are good and How i can increase my 3dmark06 number or cpu and gpu because i see a lot of people with higher score then mine.
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
Keep in mind that a lot of the scores that people here are reporting are overclocked and tweaked systems that are NOT representative of out of the box performance.
As for how your current system stacks up, I could not say as I am not knowledgeable on bench scores for the M11x -
Scook, do you still have your R1?
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
I do but have not done any benches on it. My Transformer Prime gets in today and may be the nail in the coffin for the M11x haha
-
lol. Yea I havn't used it much lately. But I do have it running 24/7 for F@h. Occasionally I'll use it to browse the web on the couch.

I just take it to work with me for personal browsing tethered through my phone. Work laptop all goes through their proxy and 100% of traffic is captured for DPI so don't need them getting all that off me haha
