Anyone run the Final Fantasy XIV benchmark test yet?
Curious what scores some of the regulars here get.

There's "Low" and "High" which are basically 720p and 1080p respectively.

Need gaming benchmarks. I think it was pretty obvious the R1 was CPU bottlenecked in a number of games, and I am pretty sure we'll get better FPS with an i5/i7 now.

@Unreal - dude I am laughing so hard...
-
hahahaha, win

I figured I'd post something since everyone was asking. I'm glad I didnt bother 'doing it properly' now. ;P -
lol, well now you've had your fun
I don't suppose you could thrill us with at least the free 3dmark06 score that you can download? -
Well if you weren't going to do it, then why bother?
You don't have to of course but Windows Index score.... -
Poop > WEI
Where are the Vantage and 3DMark06 numbers at? -
-
Ah, alright.
Hmm. what's wrong with the Optimus? -
I think hes just talking about setting up your optimus profile that manages what applications enable the 335.
-
Going by the other thread apparently optimus is pretty much broken right now. You can't manually configure it, and it won't work with games from GTA4 to WoW and many others.
-
Hey, if you wanna just play games and run benchmarks, why don't you just set the option in BIOS to discrete graphics only? I know.... it's not a long term solution but at least you could run anything, I hope at least? -
I'm eagerly awaiting Bad Company 2 benchies. If it can play it well (low settings are acceptable) at 40FPS+ average then I'm sold. -
Oh... did not know that.I'm behind on my m11x thread readings...

Hum just like that I was curious to see what I could get with my R1 and with the CPU, [email protected] and my g335M at 630-900-1425 , I get a 3marks06 of 4201. while everyone here with these settings gets 7k ballpark, I run win7 ultimate and disabled physx
Edit: Drivers are 197.16 -
^ plug it in, high performance mode??
-
I dont think that people should sell the r1 and buy r2 but there is a significant difference -
It is plugged in and well I disabled the Intel in the bios .. I run in dedicated graphics all the time.

So I have been using my M11x R1 since last Friday and I'm pretty impressed so far.
I have the M11x in Cosmic Black with SU7300 @ 1.73GHz, 4GB DDR3, 500GB HDD. I've removed McAfee and Nero, I've disabled Windows Search Service and Windows Firewall. I also used Uniblue PowerSuite to clean the registry and tweak the system. I've updated all the drivers to the newest ones on Dell's website and I'm using 197.12 beta drivers.
Here are my results in Crysis with stock GPU settings and GPU overclocked, the gain of 1.4 FPS doesn't seem worth it so I won't continue overclocking. My desktop does the same less than 2fps more when GPU's are overclocked. However the minimum FPS is about 5fps higher, so it might be worth it to some. According to the first page looks like my results are pretty good so here they are.

Batman AA results. The OC here makes a pretty nice difference, especially on minimum FPS.

I don't understand why are you all trying batman with out physx?
Also, what's the point in crysis on medium? it looks like . And at last, crysis on in dx9 and on 64bit runs much better. -
I only get around 6300 with stock GPU and OC cpu.
I use gamebooster, and have uninstalled McAffee. Not sure if nero is still there for me...
Is your run @ the default res. (1280x768 i think?)
Also, does that UniBlue suite really make that much of a difference? I would like to see my perfomance boosted. Many Thanks. -

Did you notice an increase with Gamebooster? I'm wondering if I should try it. -
Anyone willing to try to overclock FSB in the OS from 200MHz to 266MHz using software (Clockgen, SetFSB, CrystalCUPid, etc.) ? This should give us true 1.73Ghz on CPU and 1066MHz on RAM.

@Me How - as I explained in your other thread the CPU is TME locked. MEANING it can't be overclocked with software without shorting out pin number 14 on the cpu itself. There is a whole clock gen thread on this subject. StevenX

Hey guys. Long time no see. I'm headed back to my base and should be there in the next day or two. I'm willing to update the top scores and add in an M11x R2 section. Since I havn't been on the board in almost three weeks I'm out of touch on the R2 completely. If people would link me to the top M11x R2 scores, I'd be glad to update the score board in the next week.

Nice to see you back

DR650SE nice avatar! and welcome back.

OK so i've installed the latest 335m driver from the dell website (197.72) replacing the original driver (i've never updated it) and have noticed next to no difference with the new driver, in fact slight decreases all round.
Just tried a benchmark on FEAR Perseus Mandate and did 3 runs with the new and old drivers.
With the old drivers I got this result almost exactly each time:
FPS
Min: 21
Avg: 36
Max: 60
Distribution
12% below 25FPS
53% between 25 and 40FPS
35% above 40FPS
With the new drivers my average FPS was continually at 34 with max at 58, with 20% below 25FPS until the 3rd time:
FPS
Min: 21
Avg: 36
Max: 60
Distribution
18% below 25FPS
47% between 25 and 40FPS
35% above 40FPS
That was my absolute best result which is still noticably worse than the original drivers. I have tested plenty of games from old to new and there is basically no difference, the only differences are usually worse performance. Why is this? -

@Neil - where did those figures come from? The r2 is powerful but 45 fps is a little unbelievable. Unless of course they were in multi, looking at the ground the whole time. I would seriously question the method of bench, which map, etc... Thanks for posting it though. Nice to see others are at least trying to make the comparisons. Best Wishes, StevenX

It's a pretty good read -
I've been having FPS issues in XI whenever there are multiple PC/NPC sprites. I get maxed FPS with only my character, even in battle. But even in a non highly populated town with just 5-10 people, or NPCs with DAT loaded sprites, the FPS drops like a brick.
I know nVidia drivers are a hit or miss with XI, so I was wondering what drivers you were using. I'm currently on the defaults that come with the system (I can confirm the 335M is engaged via test tools).
I tried the newest beta drivers with Nautilis' modified INF, but it created issues with Optimus for me (FFXI would not engage the 335M, it would engage for other games but not for FFXI) -

@Anandtech Review - I love how they add 100 percent to each percentage for the R2... so its 102 percent better than the R1. Those guys kill me. I would love to take my R1 and bench against them. But... on the plus side the R2 guys need some positive press so this will help them feel a bit better.
What it boils down to is 3-5 fps better in each game. Any higher than that I am calling (Bravo Sierra) without seeing more information on the benches.
Again... this is just my opinion...

Thanks, great to be back. Just gotta get some sleep, and then should be picking up my M17x R2 tommorrow when I get to the office. Should have some fun with that -
102% better mean it is 2.2 times faster than R1 when in reality, they meant to say it's only 2% faster. -
Even only a couple of frames faster in average can give a better gaming experience. It could be due to higher minimum frames.
I don't know about you, but when you sit and game around 30 FPS, every FPS counts, since 30 FPS is on the edge for what we experience as "smooth". -
