Thanks a lot for the tip! I cancelled my subscriptions a while ago (the game felt extremely grindy and boring for me) but I'm sure there's still lots of others playing who'll appreciate it! :)

Just curious how many people have been fortunate with their OCing to get above 8k.

Hmm, I'm pretty sure the M11x is stuck at 1.6GHz. Not 1.73GHz. I'd love to get 2080MHz on the M11x. Did you use Set FSB? The M11x has a TME locked pll :(

I must be hopeless I can only get 6989.

    Hi all,

I have an m11x R2, running the beta 260.xx drivers listed in the forum. I'm having an issue with 3dmark06, i've added the .exe to the whitelist, and when I open it, my Windows Theme turns to basic (causing the taskbar to become solid, etc) and the video card listed on the status first screen is listed as the Intel HD integrated graphics and not the 335m.

Is there something I'm missing or doing wrong to get 3dmark06 to run on the 335m instead of the integrated video card (I don't have any problems with this for other programs such as SC2)?

I can't get my M11x to go past 7800

I'm also running an i7 with 4gb ram and a 500gb HD and I have my FSB set at 166 with Turbo on. My GPU clocks are set at 535/1284/875

This seems to be the max stable GPU clock I can get.

What's interesting is these are the exact same numbers I got on my old machine that this current one is an RMA exchange/new build. I swapped HD's between the original and exchange so I wouldn't have to reinstall everything.

Could that have something to do with getting the same clocks on 2 diff. machines?

Or any other input as to why I can't break 8K, it's appreciated. Not that it's a huge deal breaker for me. As long as it can play games...

Tried my hand on OCing the GPU and got 6722 in 3DMark06 at 520/1250/840.
Didn't want to try and go further since my idle temperature seems to shoot up to the high 40s (seen 49-50) using that setup as opposed to the low to mid 40s that people seems to be getting here.

Is it normal for the idle temp to get that high?

Yep, as DR650SE says, 40 - 50C on a GPU is fine, quite low on an over-clocked GPU to be honest.

Are you currently living on an ice pack with a pet polar bear?

I normally get around 50 - 60C on an M11xR1 SU7300 with both CPU and GPU over-clocked. This is also well within accepted values.

Have an old cia 1999 'netbook' which runs at about 70C since I put winXP on it and it's been running that way for over 5 years now. It burns your legs if placed on your lap

I ran my M11xR1 SU7300 using the same GPU clocking as you indicated in your post.

    M11xR1 SU7300 OC'd BIOS A05 4GB RAM nVidia 197.72(Dell) 520/1248/840

I ran CPUID Hardware Monitor and got 40-56C temperature during the test.

    3DMark06 returned:
    3DMark Score: 6782 3DMarks
    SM 2.0 Score: 3146
    SM 3.0 Score: 3279
    CPU Score: 1442
This score is about right for these GPU settings and probably quite stable during gaming.

    I have had a 3DMark06 Score of 6986 with GPU 580/1392/888 on an M11xR1 SU7300 BIOS A05 nVidia 197.72(Dell)

Its just a cosmetic flaw from optimus, even though it says intel HD graphics its using the 335m. you wouldnt get anything past 2-3k probably using the intel HD graphics.

I'm glad to see this thread start coming back to life. If there is enough demand, I'd be willing to create and R2 benchmarks section in the original post with the score tracking. The scores were never really tracked so I never read much about them due to lack of orgainization. But I'd do it for the R2 crowd if they wanted it.

I dont think swapping the HD's had anything to do with it. Just had similar luck with GPUs both times. You may want to tweak your CPU OC to something lower, people are reporting that less is more with the i7 overclocking meaning people are getting higher CPU benchmarks at 154fsb (random number) as oppose to 166fsb. I dont think anyone really knows the reason why.

Can someone explain how to get 3DMark06 to detect my proper GPU? I was running the test and it was lagging like hell. (FPS of only 1,2) I think it was using the Integrated graphics card on my R2. I have an i7 and would like to contribute. Thanks

ok go to nvidia control panel and on the top left of it go to View and check the last thing.
Then go 3DMark06 and right click it and click run with graphics > Nvidia
I think that should work

As you can see beside SM 2.0 Score, SM 3.0 score, and CPU score; they all say N/A which definitely hinders my final score.

    Pleeeaaase can someone help me.

Before TS My best 3dmark score was 8105 probably could have squeezed further but was happy with this.

    see.. Imageshack - 13949955.png

    this is i7@166 gpu 543/l1303/905

    sm2.0/3648
    sm3.0/3631
    CPU/2003

    Now with i7@166 TS 20/60 or 100/100 or 200/200

    http://img87.imageshack.us/i/10658905.png/

I am getting a huge jump in CPU approx 450-500 but my GPU score is now lower more like 3200 for each so my best overall is approx 7700 over a few runs.
I have high performance plan selected (set back to defaults just in case)/Powermizer to off both ac and batt. (im using AC as I know 3dmark scores lower on battery)
I have dropped the OC on the GPU down as was advised it can downclock if it gets too high but the score was still in the 7000's. Has my GPU degraded or something?.
I should be getting near the 9000's based on tassadars i5 score.
Im pulling my hair out here. yours hopefully.........

I can't get anywhere near that high an OC on my system. So far 8422 - 550/1320/890 is the best I've achieved. That's stable when playing Metro2033, CivV, L4D and L4D2. Anything higher and the driver will crash or 3dmark06 will lockup during the graphics loading (dirigible on the river) test.

tassadar898 has a magic 335 in his system! I plan on tweaking a bit tomorrow.

This is the best i can get for now! If I push much further it gets very unstable. A 600 point increase since the TS boost was applied is very pleasing.

On another note does anyone know how do you remove a program from the whitelist. I have stuff uninstalled but still showing there and remove is always greyed out
