Tux, insure that you run the benches at the native 1360x768
-
Already broke 7k on the M11x, just need to tweak some memory along with the gpu clocking.. Cake!
7k 3dmark06 -
Nat nice score 86.75 average fps. Nice Job Spires. You get any artifacting or lock ups at those settings?
-
how do you test that you have a stable gpu overclock?
-
7k cracked here awell.
Running stable and not hot at all under load, no problems reported in ATI Tool, no issues in 3DMark06, also under gaming for over an hour no issues at all, my GPU's memory is the weak point for my card it does not have much more headroom whilst keeping stability.
3DMark06 : 7014
Cheers
Nathan -
I use ATI Tool for testing for stable overclocks on my GPU's
Try here
Also in my opinion nothing better than real world gaming to test your card for stability. -
natbyte what you using to OC the GPu?
-
EVGA Precision, Nvidia System Tools 6.05
Hope that helps. -
No trouble at those clocks. Applied at startup and games are fine.
-
you must both have ssd's because I ran mine higher and got a lower number :/. It was starting to get unstable and tweak when i ran at these settings.

KoukiFC3S, the 4k read/write times are really low???
-
Damn. My M11x isn't stable at 600 1440 900. My max is 550 1320 849. Anything above crashes crysis. 3dmark06 crashed at 600 1440 900 but I havent tried anything higher than my stable crysis settings.
My max free 3dmark06 run was 6840. Stock gpu/oc cpu was 6300. Guess my 335m is a bit gimpy compared to other peoples.
Any suggestions? -
Starks, what are your temps when benching? Have you tried it with a cooler?
Madcow, Check out this thread, **Official M11X Gaming Discussion Thread**. It's great for gaming settings and discussionSorry just trying to keep the thread focused.

Driver may help, but I never really game overclocked on the GPU, Just do it for benching. Top benching scores are pushing the system, so your never going to be able to game at those clocks. But drivers do vary. so give them a test. I try and find what works best for benching. Some are better for benching while others are better for gaming. But I don't game much. At least stressful gaming. More of a number chaser

Not bad - My OCZ Agility 120GB / for $300...Attached Files:

Your 4k are kinda low too... you guys sure you have them set up optimally? Should be at least 12 on the kingston and almost 20 on the OCZ Agility i thought.
Did you guys mirror or fresh install? did you use the newest firmware, etc etc etc? -
My max free 3dmark06 run was 6903.
I'm quite happy with it. Fact of the matter is I'm just glad it's rock stable on GT335M defaults and Bios CPU OC -
Okay I just deleted a ton of posts. This thread is for benchmarking only. Stay on topic.

Stock GPU/Drivers. Bios overclocked CPU:
3Dmark06: 6445

I got 6358 with OC CPU and stock GPU/Drivers
-
after a reformat, decided to run 3dmark06 again stock GPU, Bios OC'd CPU.

lol.... 6500ish is what my i7 XPS16 was getting
I can't wait for this system.
-
Um guys, I keep on running 3dmark06 and I get a score of 4000 something. Running the trial so I can't change the settings. Wth is going on? CPU score seems on par with everyone else but my gpu scores are in the thousands. Dont have it plugged into power could that be it?
-
Thats exactly it. Not sure why, but it throttles when on battery power. Plug it in and you'll see 6100 scores if your CPU is bios overclocked.
-
Oh...thank you lol. Gonna take another run at it *crosses fingers*
edit: Holy crap your right already I notice an increase in performance. Wow so gaming on the battery is a no no then? -
@mobiousblack
Someone else had the same issue when on battery. I think we all do but not many of us have run that 3dMark06 while on battery. I believe they also stated how to get it to not throttle. -
Actually, all you need to do is go into AlienFX and set GPU at max performance under battery settings. It should be a custom power setting. Then you will get the 6100 3DMark06 scores on battery. Then it won't throttle back to save battery power. Try it and let me know if this works on Battery, although I'm 95% sure you'll see that this is correct
I don't have mine yet so I can't test it.
Benchmarking and gaming on the battery is no problem provided you have the above steps done. It will lower your battery life, but you can bench/game on the go with high settings. -
Well test is done and got a whopping 6497 with the CPU oc'ed! LOVE THIS THING!
-
DR650SE is right, it CAN play without throttling under battery if you make sure to have GPU at max performance on battery setting. Change advanced settings or under AlienFX. I hit 6300 under battery
-
ran my first bench...stock gpu, overclocked bios...6532 3DMarks
-
very impressive! 6500 on stock GPU with CPU
-
You can honestly run 3dmark 06 over and over and get +/- 200 points... not the most accurate test lol
-
-
It's a wannabe test imo.
it runs multple long drawn out tests.
what it should do is run shorter tests, several times each, and then generate an average result for each batch of tests, and factor that into a less-likely to fluctuate final score. -
Got 6378 in 3DMark 06 with SU4100 CPU overclock stock GPU
-
-
I m not sure though. -
-
google opencl and download that
-
- and from what I can tell - the only way to enable that on the Nvidia chip is to upgrade to the newer drivers (i.e. I believe version 195+).
I noticed azn had Dox drivers installed - so I visited that site, downloaded and installed those drivers - and, interestingly enough, the Dox drivers makes a pretty significant impact - at least with 3dMark06 benchmarks.
Before (sorry for no screenshots) - "Standard" install / drivers from Dell/AW - CPU OC'd - received a 3dMark06 score of 6305.
Installing the newer drivers - gives me a score of 6542.
I've actually gone back and re-installed the "standard" drivers and I'm re-running the benchmarks again. And while there's obviously an improvement in the Dox drivers - they're also kinda flaky with regards to switching back/forth between the discrete and IGP modes - sometimes hanging the machine.
For that reason - I'll stay with the "standard" drivers and hope they'll upgrade to the newer version sooner than later.. -
hi jsgiv, I'm still on Dox drivers and no hangs with switching gpus although the hot keys don't work now, I'm just using the taskbar icon to switch =)
-
-
Yeah - not sure why - I don't get the same experience here.. Did you install any additional IGP drivers (i.e. from intel) when you switched to Dox?
What's even stranger - I just re-ran the benchmark again with the "standard" drivers and it actually yielded 6509 marks this time. Which really calls into question how accurate 3dMark06 is - considering that's an effective 4%-5% deviation? Almost as accurate as some political polls..Attached Files:

in company of heroes, native res, max settings, aa off
i got
38 average
20 minimum
96 maximum
unfortunately when i hit prntscrn it took a screenshot of my desktop. this happens in world of conflict too. how do you guys take screenshots in game? -
abused bunny I use fraps and just set fraps screenshot to the print screen button it auto saves a pic into the fraps directory. my actual print screen doesn't work as copy paste though either.
-
yea; i usually use steam or fraps, or steam demos.
