A couple months!? Seriously, it goes from November, to tomorrow, to a couple months? This is getting downright ridiculous, so basically we all fronted money for a technology that wasn't actually out yet, but was advertised as so.

EDIT: I actually think I'm misunderstanding what you wrote. Are you saying that its NOT going to be a couple months, or that it won't be a couple months till its out?

    Two months?
Dang it, I seriously wanted to get MoH 2010 or BFBC2 Vietnam...

Yeah, but Blabb anyone that's been following this thread has known there's been a confirmed fix coming for almost 6 weeks now.

So you're really not proving anything. At best you're only teasing the rest of us about having a working driver, or at worst passively bragging about it. (Which I do not believe to be the case at all, ftr)

I read the link you provided, the Nvidia tech responded with that offer of help in what looked like a public thread unless I missed something, so I don't think you're breaking any confidentiality or breaking some kind of NDA by posting a link to the drivers with a disclaimer to use at your own risk.

What you want to do is cool and your choice and you have every right to it with genuine good wishes.

However, if it was me? I'd erase any traces to the originator who modified the drivers and then post those same drivers for every M11x player to test or use and Pimp everyone out until NVidia gets it together.

But you're right, the legit ones will be out soon and excercising some more patience in the meantime is always a good thing for one's general health, so it's all good.

Your genuine attempt to help the rest of us is what counts and I truly appreciate that.

    Cheers

You should do law, not accounting... You've a sense of justice most of us here admire. :D

Need an Optimus user that is using whatever the latest driver is to send me some files. PM me if ya can do. Most appreciative.

    -

EDIT: Believe me I understand everyones frustration with this situation. I paid $4000 when I first purchased this Vaio Z only to find out it uses a graphics technology that utilizes proprietary drivers. I have had this notebook for almost 2 years now and there has been maybe one graphics driver update. If I didn't start looking into things myself I would still be stuck using 186.84 drivers. Since I have modding experience from back in the 3dfx days I took it upon myself to start digging. I noticed that these "propritary" drivers seem like a combination of standard Intel and Nvidia drivers. I took that information created a driver package for myself and started the ball rolling where I posted up my findings here in a thread titled " My Discoveries on Vaio Zs Hybrid Graphics". Soon after a gent named Sorg took the information I posted and figured out the key file that I overlooked and the rest is history. Hybrid Graphics users now do not have to rely on OEMs to update their proprietary drivers (hint: they don't update them anyways) and we can now build the packages ourselves.

So there we are. All of this we are dealing with is part of the reason Microsoft came out with a statement discouraging manufacturers from implementing hybrid/switchable graphics technologies stating it "can be unstable and provide a poor user experience."

    @THX

The only thing holding me back from releasing this is the maker's confidentiality agreement. I will not release it unless told otherwise. But, I will do some talking and see what I can do.

I am going to need a guinea pig for the 265.90 package I am uploading. It is a mix between 265.90 Quadro and 260.99 Verde (M11xR2 only). It should be finished uploading in about 40mins as of this post. Can't guarantee it will work... can't guarantee it wont nuke your notebook or cause issues if it does. The only file from 260.99 Verde is the Updatussetup.exe which I am fairly certain is only for automatically updating the drivers/profiles so it shouldn't be crititcal to operation of the drivers.

Other than a computer lol. I'd say unless you know how to work with drivers, installs, uninstalls, etc pretty well I'd say just wait for a report on if it works or not.

Look elsewhere for a punkbuster fix fluffywuffy we already told you that this driver package is a custom one not built for the 420m so why do you continue to post things about your 420m in a non-Alienware computer?

He may not have PM privelages yet depending on when he hit his post mark and if the mods have freed up the ability to PM or not. Nautis have you had any reports of HDMI out not working on this at all? I finally got things dialed in but have no HDMI or even display port out :(

I have not had any reports one way or the other about HDMI. I might have some idea how to fix it though. :D

Hm, I'm not getting kicked anymore and I'm on the 258.96 drivers. This is BC2 with the recent VIP update purchased through Steam. I can play indefinitely without PB problems. Haven't tested with other games yet, might do so soon.

Thanks for the patience guys. We've checked a solution into the upcoming Verde driver build and we're in the final stages of getting qualification.

The next Verde driver should (finally) get this issue resolved and also come with a wealth of bug fixes and perf optimizations as well.

Driver will be posting very soon....hang tight!

That's great to hear - I've been scared to touch my drivers for fear of losing this weird case of not-getting-kicked. As slickie said, very nice to see Nvidia reps this involved with end users!
