As a long time reader and lurker of the forums, I find it somewhat disheartening to see many of the more, negative or perhaps problematic threads popping up. Of course we can't forget the good rule of thumb, about most people coming here, when they have problems, with a a great majority just using their machines without never posting.
But, still I am wondering about the M11x community here, and if anyone just still loves their Laptop and are happy with their purchase?

i love my M11x and i am happy with my purchase. Grats on your post count. 666.
-
i ♥ my m11xr2
-
i love my r2 so much i want a cheap r1 as a backup lol
-
I love my R2. Its my first laptop so i don't have much to compare to but i am definitely happy with my purchase. Aside from Optimus being a little buggy this machine runs all my games better than i expected it would for a laptop this size. Not to mention it has been an attention getter. Once some of the kinks get worked out & future drivers are released I am sure it will have a long life.
-
I love my R2. Every time I shut it down, I cuddle with it a little bit before I put it down. I really have never been this much in love with a piece of electronics.
-
-
i love my r2 too
-
i hate my r1, i've been spending much time on it and forget any social activities =.=
-
right here! love it since i got it. no problems so far =]
-
i love my m11x
-
A bit of love hate atm as scarred by the problems leading toa motherboard replacement, but definitely getting more towards love now.
-
I love it, except for the hinge.
-
I also love my little beast! I'm very thankful she has no hinge issues and the screen touching the keyboard can be fixed by using the little screen shipping protector it came with.
-
I love my r1, it is my main computer and i use it for everything from office stuff through to sound engineering and of course the odd game!!
-
I love my M11xR1. It's the best mini that I have owned and it plays games beautifully. I was playing Mass Effect yesterday for a couple of hours without any heat issues, spacing out, etc and I had Microsoft Office open in the background with a 600 page novel. No problems. I haven't had any over clocking issues and have it over clocked to 1.73. I have no hinge problems. I do have a microfiber cloth that was recommended on this forum that I put between the lcd and the keyboard anytime I close the computer which is after work every day. I'm really easy on my computers though and take very good care of them. My M11xR1 plays graphic intensive games very well. I've even played Crysis on it and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 works perfectly. I'm really glad that I bought it when I bought the M17x.
I should add that I bought my R1 on ebay for 850.00. I could even get the configuration from Dell for that price and it was brand new. I got 250 gig hd, 4 gig ram. -
Love it. Hate feeling like the hinge is likely going to fail and feeling like I need to extend the warranty. As someone else here put it, "It's like having a gun held to your head with one round chambered." ... or something like that...
I split time at work with it and my MBP. If the M11x had a decent LCD could easily use it as my primary. -
R1 here, favorite piece of electronics I own.
-
Of course people will always complain, but I've never seen a little monster quite like this!!!
-
-
Just got an SSD configured and running on my R2 and it is awesome. Pretty much love everything about it. SSD made it even better.
-
I love my r2 , its so portable and powerful its really amazing. As soon as they fix the dual d3d punkbuster issues in COD and Battlefield bad company ill be completely happy. I wanna play multi !!! lol So far tho that is the only problem ive had i couldnt fix with a driver or something.

I love my m11x. I love it so much that I sold a M17 with hd3870 crossfire and p8600 cpu to buy mine. I got a m11x for my wife first and this is what convinced me. She got her's the first week they were available to mass public (I ordered the su7300 for here the first day available to order). I used hers on and off for several weeks and was sold. You see people complain sometimes about not being able to run certain games on ultra or high but in truth the machine is a 12 inch (11.6 rounding up) gaming system. It doesnt weigh much and is just all around cool. I have owned a computer since the early mid 80s thanks to my grandpa that bought me my first apple 2+. I can honestly say this has been my favorite machine. Best Wishes, StevenX

I love my R1 as well, and OP dont be disheartened of all the negitive comments, many people who post here find these forums when they have trouble and neeed help, NOT the happy people out there oblivious to those whom have had problems.
-
-
Love my M11x (I have the R2, i7 model)! No problems with Optimus, battery life, keyboard touching the lid or broken hinges.
To the OP, note that most people who don't have problems aren't going to post about their nonexistent problems, whereas people who have M11x's with problems are going to post. So it may seem like there's "more" people with problems, but I don't think that's the case. -
I LOVE MY M11x!
It's portable, it's powerful, it's got good battery life, what's not to love about it? I use my M11x for gaming, school work and good old web browsing. -
May I ask, Noah - You say you use it for schoolwork! Does that mean you also use it to write essays on?
If so - How do you find the typing? Can you type fast on the keyboard?
Also do you find it good enough to watch 720 HD video on it? -
Ive had my M11x for a week now, and its absolutely my favorite laptop.
Ive replaced my desktop at work with it. Its quite nice to be able to take my entire work computer with me where ever I go. Working from home is much nicer now with VPN, and having the ability to play a game here and there is sweet.
Ive upgraded the HDD to a Momentus XT, and the Wireless card to a Intel 6200. Prior to changing it, I would get max 260mpbs on my home network and get significant signal loss when going up to my second level. My router (Netgear 3700) is in the basement and only one floor above the signal would drop to 200mbps, and down to 50mbps on the second floor. After upgrading to the 6200, I would see 300mbps in the basement and first floor, and only drop to 270mpbs on the third. I even get 150mbps in my garage about 75 feet from my house. -
i love my r1, it's an awesome machine
-
-
I've been keeping tabs on your Dell/Alienware thread regarding your hinge issue. What a frickin' nightmare.
-
Both my netbook and my desktop have been mostly ignored since I got my R2 a few weeks ago. I love my baby alien.
-
love my baby alien, it is so powerful I am still amazed how it can run those games..
even with my hinge popping and cracking i love it -
Just to add, I also think M11x is a great machine. It is amazing that you can fairly play demanding games in such a small equipment. It shows that there is no excuse for not adding a good GPU in 13.3 inches or less notebooks. However, it is a shame that while many big technological barriers have been overcome in the production of this machine, it fails in something so simple and mechanic as the hinge design...
Plus I would really love it with a less glossy screen. I have plenty mirrors, I really don't need an extra one. -

Cherude - Judging by how the older m15x was handled they will only service the ones that have issues. No recall and no system update, which means changes in manufacturing process which costs loads of money. They will figure, based upon reports gathered that only a small percentage of customers will have or report issues. My advice would be to purchase the extended warranty. Best wishes, StevenX

Intel 6200 Drivers -
I love my m11x r1!!!!
-
To be completely honest, I should have gotten' a Desktop. The M11X's performance is good but JUST doesn't cut it. It has a lot of problems as well like the hinge problem. I have an R1. I give my 3rd PC (M11X R1) a 6/10.

I really love my m11x. this notebook is a good replacement for my previous laptop with intel core2duo T7100.
the built is very portable, and also very powerful, planning to replace it maybe when m11x r5 is out ;-) -
hopefully by then it can run crysis 1 on high settings!
-
I love mine as well lol it is amazing and alienware is just amazing at what they do to make a 11.6" laptop this great!
-
I love this laptop. My I5 runs all my games without a hitch!
-
I was worried because of this. However, I've gotten better performance than I ever dreamed with my R2-i5
