Hello, I recently bought a used M15x, that was apparently for parts but actually worked fine for the most part. and I heard that apparently it's possible to upgrade the GPU on it to a 7970m. Which I happened to have from another laptop. However when I had put it in, and booted it up there was no display, even at the BIOS screen, but I could hear windows booting up, as well as the camera from the face recognition feature. I tried making sure it was in, modded the heatsink's screws so the smaller ones could fit, as well as buying a 240W adapter for it, so it had enough power. but it seems that there's no dice on this card working with it.

I'm not sure what to do. The card doesn't seem to be dead as it boots to windows, but I can't see anything. If I put the 5730 back, it works fine.

I don't know what else to do, other than getting a different card or flashing a Vbios, which i've never done before. Help would be very much appreciated, as i'd love to reuse my old card if possible. Thanks!

My original specs on the M15x are (if this helps):
    i7-740qm
    16GB DDR3
ATI Radeon HD 5730 (original card that came in it)
    Bios revision: A09

I have the 7970M and 8970M. Both cards work with my M15x. Not sure what to tell you on why yours does not work. What brand laptop did this come in?

The original laptop this card came off of was a Clevo P150EM.
