I just bought an 860m, i followed some threads, but have some questions.

First, the whitescreen problem when boot, can this be fixed, also if the screen goes off, it won't it will go to whitescreen.

second is the sound, will i have sound or won't. I followed one guide from 770m but when enabling the bios sound can't boot.

used 345.20 modded driver that i found in TI.

thanks for your help and guidance

So after a lot of trying, now the sound is working, i had to disable the gpu driver, then enable the idt driver. Some reboots after somehow it started to have sound.

Now i just need help trying to find a solution to the white screen when monitor off, and when booting

Not sure but it should be in the 40s based on its rated TDP. Of course ambient room temps play a huge role as well. What temps are you getting anyway?

Could be the same issue I had with the paste spreading on the Firepro m6000. Try re-pasting without thermal pads and see how the paste spreads.

Sounds like a defective video card.

I had the same issue with a defective 5850M. It would show a white screen on the laptop's display but displayed just fine on an external display. I inspected the card and it actually had physical damage on the board with a couple of missing components that appeared to have been torn off.

Try an external display and contact the seller you bought it from. It may have been a bad card from the start.

The internal display works, but when the screen turns off instead it stays white, but when working works as expected

Weird, so it works but when the screen turns off it goes white instead of black?
