    Hey Guys!

    I am torn on whether i should buy the GTX 460m and overclock the card OR if the ATI 5870?

    Which card can be over clocked more?
    Which card is better for gaming?
    Which card is better for editing?
    Which card is easier to install (including hardware and drivers)?
    Which card has been proven to be most stable with the M15x?

    I am buying this card for my brother and he will be playing games such as BF3, Diablo 3, GW2, and SWTOR!!! As well as video editing!! Which card is better???

    THANKS FOR HELPING ME!!!

    You can get maybe like 4-5 fps more with the 5870m

    both can be overclocked
    the 5870 is better for gaming
    for editting im not sure
    For drivers, I like Nvidias support over ATI's

    For gaming, the 5870m is the better choice. For video editing, any app with CUDA support will run better on the 460m.

    GAME = ATI
    GRAPHIC & WORK = NVIDIA

    the card is similar in standard, just your preference

    The 460M throttles under load with my 820QM and A09 bios. I thought it was fixed, but apparently not for me. I'm not even sure I'd trust the 5870card not to throttle :p Might want to go for a 5850 to be safe.

    You might have to do little flashing to make the 5870M work, but in the end its better than 460M
