Just updraded my m15x video card from 5850 to 6970,
The problem now is when playing wow or swtor after a while my laptop shuts off, i think its heat related. Anyone know of a good program to speed up gpu fan rpm?

I have sapphire trixx i use that mostly to monitor gpu heat temp. cant realy speed up fans much trixx.

The M15x can cool the 6970 and 6990M really well. Repaste your GPU with quality thermal paste. I recommend ICD 24 thermal compound. Also make sure you have adequate thermal padding.

As a reference my 6990M runs MAX 70C at 100% load even OCed. This in temps of 22C ambient. The only thing I have additionally done which you might want to consider is prop the back of the laptop up on something. This helps airflow to the fans considerably.
