take it bit by bit. for example; start at 750/1500 and continue to increase by 20+ on the clocks each bench.

my dell 460m card is only capable of around 760 / 1500 stable whereas some clevo 460m's smash 800+ core. Think because dell underclocks 460 cards considerably, 570 on the core by default.

Some cards just OC better so best to start off slowly, i suspect your 6970 will be obviously be able to get more juice out of it than mine, but you should still try and find your sweet spot in increments!

Good luck! look forward to your benches if you post them! :)

Start off with your 940xm at stock settings and then try 800/1000 on the 6970M. If it's happy there, ease upward at 10-15MHz at a time. Remember how much power these things eat as you o/c. Ease it up, don't slam it. As you get to or near its stable limits, go back and play with the 940xm. You'll run into situations where downclocking the CPU will yield the best results. Take your time and experiment.

I noticed on a couple of performance test I took(Pitstop Full Test) that my 3D fps are great but my 2D is about 1/2 what I used to get with the 5850. Should I do anything with the voltage?

Don't know about the PC Pitstop tests, but none of us has ever figured out how to increase the voltage above the stock 1.1v.
