hi guys...i have a chance of getting a 6970m es that can flash to a 6990m
well the problem is i read sum post on the forum that seems the 6990m is not stable on the M15x...should i go for that es?or just get a regular 6970m?
    the es is 450bucks
which 6970m is just 380 bucks
    almost a 100

the game im getting lag with 5870m oc is vindictus
not sure its about the cpu or the gpu
    my cpu is 740qm
my desktop is running all above 60fps
    cpu is i5 2500k and gtx460
i know 5870m is almost equal to a desktop 5770
and my laptop is getting 20-30fps on sum scene where the 460 is 60+
im not sure is the performance between these 2cards that huge or its about the 740qm sucks
but when i running that game, the cpu usage never go over 50,thats y im not sure its the cpu or the gpu

I really cant answer what card to get, but after seeing a gameplay trailer of the game I gotta say that the graphics doest look like much. On the other hand there seems to be a lot going on at once, which would make it pretty CPU-heavy.

hm...i maxed out either, but you sure you get 60fps at all time?
when i run catacombs, not glas, another boss,i got 2x fps with his minions on the screen, and on boat 7 is around 1-3x,i wouldnt say it can max out if only when u standing in town can get 60fps
but i then tried to get a 5770 to test with my desktop's 2500k
    its 60fps stable,now i know wt's the problem
    740qm sucks

@vil and u got 940xm,that's why XD ,my 5850m is even higher clocked than you,its on 800/1000

thx guys now i know i should upgrade the cpu first, the gpu will wait :D

I have the 5870M, and 5770+Phenom II X4 955, both can max it, the 5870M on the 900p screen for my M15x, and the 5770 on my 1080p monitor. For kicks, I ran it the M15x on my monitor, also maxed 1080p, and I have 720QM. When I say maxed, I mean vsynced pegged at 60FPS, FRAPS verified.

how?i mean how?740qm is better than 720qm(a bit...)but when i go into boat 7, and the mobs on screen is more than 10,the fps will slightly drop to 20
when i use spear lann, running ruins of santity, i spin crush the columns with the boss, the fps drop to 10.
but if the scene doesn't have much objects on it, then it can maintain 4-5X.
i tried to use a 5770 on my desktop, and lower the core speed to fit the laptop, it can keep 60fps+, but my desktop is running a 2500k@ 4.5 ghz
so that's why i think its the cpu problem, i don't really think a 720qm can get 60 on the scene i am
ps:im running a crucial C300 SSD and i did the ssd tweak for the pm55 chipset, i heard the tweak will raise cpu's usage but i don't think it will affect that much
btw the clock when i running vindictus is 1.8ghz....cant even boost over 2ghz

    ------------------------------------------------------------------
now i've tried to change the priority in task manager to above normal, it's better now, but still not 60fps
on the above scene i said that under 10,now goes to 20-30, still wondering how u get 60 in all scenes

Look, I'm telling you, I'm sure! I ran FRAPS a minute ago and verified. I have the 900p screen, though, and if you have 1080p, that explains it. Also, the i7-720QM i'm running turbos up very well (2.8GHz, I believe), so maybe your throttling. Check your temps.

well it is only around 60c
i got the 900p either,im using fraps as well
did u check the clock after ur running the game?
coz as i recall max speed is only available when running single core
    -----------------
find out that the ssd tweak will slow down sum benchmark like super pi
but after i disable the ssd tweak, even the benchmark result raises
but the in game performance is still the same, seems this is the cpu's bottleneck

Checked the clocks, and it was boosting to 2.6GHz most of the time.
