    920xm i7 cutting off

    Hi I have just upgraded my CPU to the i7 920 xm from a q740 but it keeps on Turing of unless I disable speed step and turbo boost and get word speed than my old CPU any ideas I suspect it may be the psu but I'm not to sure any help would be appreciated

    There are multiple reasons why that would be happening...
    1. Temperetures (Check how high your cpu goes)
    2. PSU tripping (what is your GPU?)
    3. CPU itself being faulty
    4. Mobo VRM unable to provide enough power.

    found the solution it came back to thermal pad vs paste. it was an O/H issue so i got rid of the pad and put some thermal paste on and its running fine now.
