    Hi there,

    I just received my 7970m, this will be my first upgrade ever and I'm a little nervous about screwing up since I've never done this before.
    I was wondering if someone could give me a step by step instruction of how to properly install the card.

    It came with the proper X-bracket, screws, pads, a driver CD, and some thermal paste (IC diamond).
    I bought some copper shims so that I don't have to grind anything down.

    I just don't know how to go about installing it. Do I have to remove any drivers or do anything before removing my current GPU?
    I'm nervous about removing my current GPU aswell (460m) since I attempted once and the thing simply wouldn't budge. Don't want to break it.
    I am completely unfamiliar on how to apply the thermal paste as well, especially with a copper shim. And how long do I need to wait for the paste to dry?

    Any help would be greatly appreciated
