    Hi there,

Sorry for creating a new thread when there's already one, But personally i think its kinda old. So i made this thread with my review/opinion.

So to begin with, I created a thread while back to know any alternate method to turn off the lights. That's because the Alienware Command Center is pretty much eats the system resource ( for me ) and the startup / boot time was damn slow. I'm sure a few people experiencing/ed this.

A Big thanks to Wattos's for creating AlienFX Lite tool and Thanks to xeroxide for letting me know about this.

I have installed this tool on my Windows 7 64bit ( yes it supports 64bit )
and i should say it is dam good, Better than original command center. You have alot of customizations you can do with this app. For example, You can change the color of alien eyes in Power button which cannot be done in original CC and its great stuff. It doesn't take much resources and boot time is twice faster and startup is like 5 seconds after entering my password (instead of 15-25). So these are few great stuff i noticed and on the darker side.

it has a few bugs, a very few are.. no option to change morphing color at back logo and doesn't show the preview colors correctly but works perfect when you click the tick mark ( apply button ) which could be fixed if wattos looks back again in source code :)

I would appreciate if wattos or anyone else who can team up to work on this tool and bring it a standalone version without any bugs and with lots of features like automatic rainbow system, color preferences, timers, stuff ( have lot of ideas to play with). Basically I'm an AI designer. So, whoever is up for serious reboot development in Alienfx lite tool. I would like to team up and contribute with an interface design from my side.

PN: Wattos, you have no idea how many people support this app in old thread :)

Thanks for your time. PM me here anytime.

    Cheers!

    Hi,

I am willing to pick up a bit of development (make it properly opensource) as well as add an Android interface (change the color over the phone) if there is enough interest into the program.

I am sorry to say, but I have little time to spare and if the application has very little demand, then I wont be able to commit any time to it

    Hi,

    I have read Wattos'post about AlienFX-Lite.
    I got an m11x r3
    on linux, lsusb give me
    187c: 522

so the original Wattos soft 0.4b doesn't work on my puppy-laptop
I (and another one in net) are trying changing a little bit the source code, but I don't know anything when it's about programming...
I think I don't have to change many thing in the source code to get it working, but till now I didn't get it work.

    Do you can help me?
    -------------------------------------
I think Wattos AlienFxLite is a very good work and many people will be happy to have it work on their alienware. In any case, thank you!

I'm very interested in this! If I can get rid of command center entirely, that would be awesome; lights are the only thing I use it for.
