It recognizes my face and appears to be trying to login, then it throws a error saying something like "Incorrect username or password".
    Windows 8 x64
AlienSense 2.4.95 (Inherited from a previous Win7 installation)

BTW: I'm using a MS account(***@Hotmail.com) to log into Windows 8.

Try it with a local account. We don't officially support Windows 8 on the m15x and issues may arise if it is installed on this platform.

How did you even get aliensense installed? It's not in the downloads section and command center doen't have the tab for it. I think aliensense is the only thing that doesn't work in WIndows 8 with a m15x. Otherwise, everything else runs flawlessly with the Windows 7 drivers.

Like I said, I did in-place upgrades from the stock Win7HP to Win7U to Win8CP to Win8RP to Win8RTM. So I'm essentially still using the stock-installed(though later updated) Command Center.

Update: Got it fixed after switching to a local account and back. Now the AlienSense is working properly even with my online account. seems like the problem lies in that I used an online account from first time I finished installation of Win8, so AlienSense didn't know which account to connect to(it appears that AlienSense was still connected to my old account from win7).

I upgraded my m17xr2 from Windows 7 to Windows 8 64-bit and had aliensense running without a problem. Then I had to refresh Windows 8 and then had to download again Command Center. Now Aliensense is no where to be seen. What happened?

run the command center's setup.exe in win7 compatibility mode and aliensense will be installed.

I tried that but it did not work. I think I am missing something that was installed on the system when I bought it and now it is missing. The color in Command Center is wrong too. It thinks I have the red laptop.

I got it to work by running command center setup.exe under windows xp compatibility mode. Thank you for your prompt response. I still have the wrong color for my m17xr2.

you need to manually extract the R******.exe file so that you are seeing a "setup.exe" and a "setup.iss".
