I really am stuck and don't know what to do.

I own an Alienware M15x, running on Vista Home Premium 64 Bit and was purchased in 2008. I bought it of my friend.

The AlienFX doesn't appear in the Command Center and the keyboard does not light up. The lights surrounding the touchpad and touch buttons are lit, but I have no control over colour, etc.

The problem occured when the previous owner put in the recovery cd in when there was need too and it basically wiped all the drivers for it off the laptop, to the best of my knowledge.

I have tried reinstalling the Command Center and OSD multiple times, but to know avail. I have read some forums saying I need .NET Framework 4 which I now have, but doesn't seem to have made a difference.

Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks, Alex.

As far as I remember, if the command center is installed from the resource disc the motherboard is damaged and the lights stop working on some areas (keyboard mainly).

Okay I got the rest of the story from previous owner. Apparently she put in the system recovery cd the first day she got it because she thought she had too or something. So this was back in 2008. It hasnt worked since. I don't know if that makes a difference :(
