I'm looking to upgrade my alienware that i've had for quite a few years. Looking to see what kind of advice and possible list of things to purchase in order to upgrade my pc at a reasonable cost. Let me know as well if it would be cheaper to just get a new pc.

    My Specs:

    Processor: Intel Core i3 CPU M350 @2.27ghz
    Installed Ram: 4gb
    System Type: 64bit
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce GT 240m
    Power Supply: Input 100v- 240v
    Output: 19.5v

Not quite sure if it's worth upgrading or not at this point, or if i should just sell and put the money towards a new PC. I would hate to let go of this LapTop

Would help if you had a budget, but in this order:
    1. AMD Firepro M6100
    2. Intel 920XM
    3. Any brand of 16GB RAM
    4. minimum 256gb ssd

still a very usable computer today, and can still play games on high settings (not quite ultra....need a 970M for that)

That's exactly how I feel. The M15X was and still is a high quality machine. The build quality is hard to compete with among newer models. It's a shame to let go of such a nice machine, but it is getting old. You need to decide if you want to upgrade it moderately for a nice performance boost for everyday computing or if you want to spend a few hundred dollars to make it into a more modern gaming laptop. It all depends on how much you want to spend.

I searched on ebay. Was real easy. There are 980s but the specs are not enough to pay the extra for.
