    Hey guys,

    I am looking to buy a new battery and charger for my alienware m15x. I want to know the advantages of buying a 9 cell battery and what charger/adapter to use with the 9 cell battery. Any help on where to buy will be very helpful.

    9 cell battery just provides an additional battery life of about 30min-45min compared to the 6 cell and better airflow as it lifts the laptop about 1-2inches? For ur adapter, if u haven't done any GPU or CPU changes, the regular 150w adapter is fine :D Hope this helps! You can check out ebay for a 150w Dell adapter, a legit 9 cell battery is rather difficult to find unfortunately.

    ^^ That's about it. You don't need a new PSU for a 9-cell battery, but you may need one if the video card is changed. Also, the difference is so small that it may simply not be worth the hassle of finding a good one.

    My latest M15x purchase arrived with a 9 cell battery. It bulks up the size enough that it is a hassle to stuff it into my current backpack.

    If you could find one nowadays, they are becoming very rare to find. Keep an eye out on e-bay, they pop up from time to time. Otherwise if you need a replacement, just get a 6 cell.
    Oh yeah, that's a good point. I have a Belkin sleeve made for 17" laptops and with the 9 cell, my M15X won't fit; with the 6 cell it fits snug.
