    Alienware m15x overclocking?

    Hey guys,

    ive been wondering for some time how do you overclock a alienware m15x?
    I know that on the m11x you can just go to the BIOS and turn on overclocking but how do you overclock an m15x? if this has already been answered im sorry.

    there is only software oc's for the M15x, there is no oc option in the bios.

    Hope you can help me on it too inap. My specs are at my sig.
    Both cpu n gpu idle is 50~ and under load is 65~
    They are still in stock paste. I would like to oc the cpu without having to worry about the temps. Thanks.

    your temps looks fine, but not much you can do with your cpu, you can use setFSB but you won't get any crazy gains.

    is it ok if i set everything max in EVGA Precision??i tried it and suddenly my screen goes to black and then some error message in the tray icon said the Video Graphics stopped working..

    You shouldn't set anything to max ever with any overclocking program. In order to sustain that speed you need to increase voltage, and I'm not sure f that's possible up to the level needed for the 460M. It'd also exceed the M15x's thermal design.

    Try 700 core, 700 memory and 1500 shader, and if that works, keep going up slowly. When you have reached a level where it is stable (remember that even if you push the card high, it wont produce and resultsuntil you try it with a game, where it may crash). Once you have reached that level, tae it down a bit and leave it there.

    it is good to start slowly and gradually go higher, to find your max stable clocks. hoboblinpie provided a nice starting point.

    also remember every card is different some can oc very high and some can't.
