I installed a new harddrive (SSD) and put windows 7 on it. I have my resource CD but I figure they are all dated and the dell support website likewise has old stuff (even the old nVidia). But I'm also wondering what is bloat and what's not. Is there a post (I searched but didn't find it) or link as to what drivers I really need? I'd like to take this chance to keep bloat off my system. Thanks.

One thing to remember NOT to do at all costs is install alienware control center from the resource CD. You will brick the alien fx chip on the motherboard. Be sure to download the latest M15x version off dell website.

100% true, please do not install the Command Center from the Drivers Disc.

Like you, I'm also going to upgrade my 128 SSD to a 256 Samsung 840 pro.

But I have questions regarding the SSD firmware update.

1- After you re-install window and find a new version of the firmware on the net, do you need to install it?

1b- If you install it, it means it reformat your hardrive and you lose all your fresh install?

So, is there a good way to do this. Or not required at all?

No I've updated the firmware on my 840 many times and it doesn't reformat drive.
I'd get the update as it may add vital updates to stop failures etc.

One last question about the Bios.

After installing my new SSD in, do I need to reinstall the Bios A09. If yes, when is the right moment to do it; after or before installing window, etc?

    Thanks.

No you won't need to reinstall BIOS after changing SSD. BIOS applies to the chipset on motherboard.
