    Hello

My m15x was randomly shut down on battery mode , even though my battery was still 80%,
This thing is confusing , i don't know whether it is the hardware or software problem.

Do you guys have any idea about this ?

    Thanks guys :D

Could be a heat related issue. What were you doong when the laptop shutoff on you? Download hwinfo64 and check your idle/load temps.

my m15x was not heating , the idle temp was 58 deg Celcius

when i was playing video on fullscreen in 3 minutes then it went shutdown or when i just standby the m15x, it went shut down in 6 - 7 minutes later, even though the battery is 90% or 80%.
but if i plug in the adapter, none of these things happened and everything was normal.

maybe i should change my battery ??

    thanks guys for the advice

It could be that, it could also be an outdated BIOS. Try flashing it to the latest version.

Which bios are you on? Also, out of curiosity, check your power plan settings for when you on battery power. Make sure things like sleep/hibernate/turn off are disabled.

a 60c idle is quite high, if that was for the cpu then it's nearly double the normal idle temp. if it was for the gpu its about 1.5 times normal. So if you end up pushing your laptop a bit on battery it could very well be a heat issue as you only stated the idle temp and not the load temp.

After some years of usage the battery will become faulty and will read out the incorrect charge state. It look like it was that time for your battery, RIP.
