I have heard that the M15x barely fits into a 15.6 bag/backpack. If this is the case, is the Orion messenger tote that sells as an option on the build page gonna work? (the one with the alien head on it...) or do I need to get the one that sells on the M17x site instead?

My boys have the orion messenger bags for their 2 m15x's , and there is plenty of room for those laptops, ac adapters, manual, mice, and a couple of games. It's a good solution.

The Orion bag fits everything nicely with room for more.
I also have a AW Matias case in slim version, it can only fit the 15x along with the usual thumb drives, docs etc. If you add the power brick, 2.5" portable hdd, or anything with width it won't close.

    bags should be ok .

    Sleeves/pouches are a different story

for e.g. i bought one of them stealth padded envelope sleeves ( made for upto a 17" laptop) and it didnt fit

I them bought one of the alienware 17" sleeves from ebay and it just fitted my m15x

So what I get from all this is that if I get one from Orion/Dell and it sez for 15", then its gonna work for the M15x?

    Hi edeech,

Here is another vote for "it fits." The Orion bag is oversized and will fit "up to a 17" laptop nicely. The actual laptop goes in the back (or bottom) half, with the front (or top) full of pockets for extras. The bag itself is about as wide as two standard briefcases. I can normally fit my M15x, iPod, cell phone, and DSi in it with all of the necessary cords, no problem. I even have room in the back for some file folders. Good luck!

The m15x is a beast and not meant for standard 'will fit 15" inch laptop bags'. The orion, as has been mentioned above, will fit it nicely though. I use a 17" laptop bag for mine and it just fits lol

I have the bag myself and the M15 is more than enough, you'll have extra room for books..etc!

I bought myself a nice Timbuk2 bag when I got my M15x- customized via their 'build a bag' system, which is kinda fun ;)

I love Timbuk2 bags, they're very well made and you can pretty much fit everything you own in one of 'em. Mine is the Large size, which is the only one (I think) that'll comfortably fit the M15x. It fits just fine though, just make sure you get the largest size if you're going with Timbuk2. And the large bag is pretty dern' big, for the record. It's definitely not your average mid-sized messenger.
