    Alienware startup problem

    hey guys for some reason my alienware is having trouble starting up...like once i press the power button it would light up and then sometimes it would restart the whole process over again till it actually boot up...please help!!

    When you press the power button to power on you M15x are any of the caps/scroll/num lock lights flashing or solid at the time, if so which one(s) are flashing/solid.

    Sometimes a simple power drain can fix the issue. With the computer off, remove the power cord, remove the battery, and then hold down the power button for about 30 seconds. Then plug it all back in and boot up.

    they all came up and i can hear the fan come up, but it dint hit POST then it shutdown and then come back up...very annoying

    what do you mean by they all came up. out of the scroll lock, num lock, and caps lock, which ones are solid and which ones are flashing.

    i think it might be my video card since i permanently flash it to a higher clock then ATI 5870

    Your overclock may be a little high for 1.05v. Try either dropping back to 750/1050 or stepping the voltage up to 1.15v.

    I had this issue after overvolting the memory, i ended up resetting the bios to defaults which cleared my problem.
