So I load up a game today, it runs horribly. I look at hwinfo, and the max clocks it reaches is 300Mhz. I have a ATI/AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5730/6570M and its max clocks are 650Mhz and it always used to reach that, even when I played last night. Just this morning when I booted up I get nothing.

I have reinstalled the drivers already and still the same.

edit: Using MSI afterburner i can get back up to 650Mhz but I have to set the memory clock to something below 800Mhz, if its 800, it goes back to 300/300 for both. This is ing weird.

edit: this morning, set memory cocks to 800, and it works perfect. .

have you tried toggling stealth button?...or next simplest check is the power drain (remove adapter/battery with laptop off, then hold power button for about 30secs, put in battery/adapter and reboot).

I'm glad everything seems fine, and I hope it was an isolated problem. However, whenever there are performance issues, specially in the M15x, is always a good idea to check if Stealth mode was enabled by accident. Check out this article.

I had the exact same problem awhile back where for the longest time my 5730M would only max out at 300/300. I did everything mentioned in this thread and nothing worked. I used MSI Afterburner, but that was unreliable for me. The I downloaded AMD GPU clock tool v0.9.26.0 (was recommended for my card at the time) I set my clocks slightly higher than spec and it worked perfectly. I rebooted and, again, same problem. I again opened the clock tool and clicked the button to set default clock and it reset it to 100/150. All of a sudden it would clock up and down perfectly. I surmised it just "forgot" how it was supposed to work as up to that point I never tried OC'ing the card.
