I've got the "not supported psu problem" I'm thinking about taking it apart and resoldering it back together and wanted to see if anyone had any advice before I potentially break my brick :D

One thought. If still under warranty, why not return it to Dell and try to get a replacement? Once you take it apart, that option is over. Also, be sure the power brick really isn't working, as opposed to a false alarm. I got the same warning after replacing the stock brick with a more powerful one until I disabled the warning in BIOS.

Careful with talking apart PSUs!! There are some pretty powerful capacitors in there... makes your hair stand up if you accidentaly touch and discharge them.

I'd do what The Rev said.

No it's a second hand m15x. And lucky me I have the batt not charging thing that I've seen in the threads here but I know it can only be two things the brick ground wire in the center of the connector or the ground wire in the m15x I just figured I'd start with the brick.

    1- order a new one.
2- unplug from (wall) socket first.

    enjoy!

Yeah it was on a06 and I flashed it to a08 because the posts here said that was the most worry free one? I tried the battery drain even took out the coin.

Unplug from the wall I can withstand 220 at least lol my brother took 400 something and that loosened his Bowles :p

If I do ever have the time to take it apart I will take pics. I'm assuming it's the psu because I can pull the wires slightly out of the brick.

You could get an inexpensive meter from Radio Shack and actually see if the power supply is delivering any voltage to the cable.

If you do take it apart, leave it unplugged overnight.

    Have fun!

I figured I'd take the battery out of one of my other broken laps and let it suck the power out. ;)

I finally got the mm out to check the v and it's on the money, so it has to be the pin or the female receptacle on the mb. I'll keep you posted to my findings when I dig a little deeper

So thanks to inap problem solved it was the AC adapter not giving the mb the signal to start charging although it was giving the right amount of voltage. I tried to get the AC adapter apart to resolder the small green wire that is causing this problem but the thing is made of some kind of magical plastic that wont come apart no matter how many times i slammed it down on the concrete lol. Resolution=buy new AC adapter. This is what i was thinking was my next step
