I believe its still up in the air on whether it works or not. It would only be speculation so far, until someone takes the plunge and tries it out. The 7xxx series is suppose to be better on heat output than the 6xxx series I believe. But one can't stop hoping that it'll work. :p

Either way the 76xx/75xx/74xx are not proper gaming cards as far as I know. I'd wanna wait and see when they come out with the big guns, and know if those cards will work in the M15x. Because the M15x can take just about anything you throw at it.

Yeah there are seriously so many things to take into consideration. Honestly our best bet is to wait till Alienware starts putting the 78XX+ cards in their laptops and then go from there. At least if they fit into the same chassis and heatsinks work without modification then really its only software holding us back from there.

i suppose we're all praying that they'll work but im quite confident the temps and power consumption should be lower (if not the same) as the 6000 cards so heat sink mods or anything wont be required, however with software, i'd gladly pay someone $1000 to customize the BIOS to make them compatible if they arent already lol, if there is anyone smart enough... :p

But i'd happily try a 7000 card in my m15x if they arent over $1000 in cost and if they theoretically should work :D just wait and see i suppose! :)

$1000 for a card and $1000 to pay somone for the bios is definately not worth it. Just buy A new laptop with the card in it. Then you get a better CPU. And it's not like your losing an RGBLED screen ;)

yeahh i know its EXTREMELY un-economical on my end however the software then is given to the thousands of people with m15x's like you, by me for free :D it's just me helping the people ;) haha

At that point would could all probably do donations so get money raised but I don't know how we'd organize that. I think someone would have to have a M15X with a 79XX card in it working before I'd donate!
