Anyone with a newer GPU daisy-chain off the DisplayPort?

I'm looking to upgrade my dual-monitor setup. I've got a couple Dell 2408WFP monitors (1920x1200) that are still doing great. They just put out too much heat. It's like sitting in front of two space heaters. Looking to upgrade to some newer monitors that don't put out so much heat. That being said, I'd love to be able to feed 2 monitors off my one DisplayPort as presently I'm running one monitor off the DisplayPort and another off the VGA port. I've never been thrilled with the image quality I get from the VGA port. So that brings me to my question. Does anyone here daisy-chain off their DisplayPort, those of you with newer GPU's that support DisplayPort 1.2? (I read that a 600 series card or higher was required.) I've got a GTX 460M at present which doesn't support DisplayPort 1.2, so I'd have to upgrade my card. I run both Windows 7 and Windows 10 though, so I'm not sure if that limits my options.
