Get a Dell branded card then. I got one and it has auto fan control.

Yes I do and I got mine from Table21 on these forums but I believe he's out of stock at the moment. Keep an eye open and make sure you get a Dell OEM 6990m, you could also try calling up Dell and getting one from them.

A dell card is going to cost you a lot more than a Clevo card. I don't get why people are so bothered by using software to control the fan. You just set it and forget it.

Regardless, I would wait for the 7xxx series to be released now, it's only about a month away.

The 7xxx series uses PCIe 3.0. They will not be compatible with the m15x.

may not be compatible but it will drive the price down of the 6990m. Just like how cheap the 5870m is, the 6990m will become also.

Haven't seen anything that confirms this yet; it's still all speculation.

GPU fans on laptops are not controlled by the GPU like they are on a desktop. The GPU fan is controlled by the system BIOS/EC based on information received from the GPU, which requires that the BIOS/EC actually supports the card in question. Like JohnnyFlash said, just use software... set it and forget it.
