    Hi there guys!

Over 3 weeks ago, my M15X started to behave in a strange manner. Every now and then, the whole screen would turn into blue/purple color and a loud sond would come out from my computer (it sounded like an electric saw).

I called Dell support and after a long call where they made me run hardware tests where it appeared that everything was ok, they decided to send a techinician, who replaced the mobo, the video card, and both fans (the video and the GPU fan). They claimed this was the better way to solve my problem but...

After that, the computed started to have lots of BSODs, specially when I was doing something related with video (Youtube and/or Skype). I called again Dell and they said that the video drivers became corrupted and I had to do a system recovery (to recover my sistem to factory state). I lost all of my data, hoping the problem would end.

Nevertheless, the problem is still there, BSODs keep appearing over and over and I'm not sure about what to do.

I'm afraid it's too late to ask for a replacement, I have a year with my laptop. Of course, I'm planning on calling DELL again to see what's going on, but I also wanted to ask you guys for some advice. Having BSODs every 30 min or so it's extremely annoying.

    Thank you.

Keep on at Dell, it can be assumed (correctly or incorrectly) that this issue remains unresolved from the first time they attempted to fix.

It is important you re-register this fault with them as soon as possible, especially if your warranty has just run out.

    That's right, I do have a GTX 260m...

Happily still have 3 years of warranty and I'll try to keep pushing on Dell. But sweet lord, their technicians are everything but useful :'(

Ok, call them and let them replace the card. Had exactly the same issues with this GPU... while you're at it you could also ask for a possible upgrade :)

Well, I guess I can ask for a replacement card, the only thing that drives me nuts it's the fact that the videocard has just been replaced about ~5 days ago hehehe :D

5850m is what you can get officially supported from dell.
i know switching out the 260m also solved a lot of problems for me.
