My battery just die and i wonder will i still need it to turn it on or i can just plug it to the mains? The reason is at the moment when I turn it on it just flashes and i can then hear the fan and then turn it self off and reboot every about 3 seconds with no video display. Any idea please help. It is Alienware M15X.

You don't need to have the battery attached to power up the laptop. In fact, to test, I just removed mine while I was typing this message - no problem.

To overcome your issue, remove the battery, remove the charger, and press and hold the power button for 10 seconds.

Now plug in the charger and power up the laptop. Does that help?
