    All,

I was wondering if anyone here has performed any gaming benchmarks of the before and after when you installed the 920/940xm?

I know I ran some going from the I3-350m to the I7-720qm.

If so do you mind posting some of your results? I think we already know most of the possible 3dmark scores and vantage with the 920/940.

    Just curious about Game benchmarks.

    Thanks,

    Steven X

Thanks Raven! I think it benefits everyone. I would just choose a list of games, bench with FRAPS if they dont have a built in tool, and compare after XM install. Should be same video drivers and everything else. Some games wont make hardly a difference at all. Other like BFBC2 makes a huge difference.

    Good Luck,

    StevenX

    well, i paid 550 for a OEM 920xm to replace my 720Qm.

    Biggest Jump was the 3Dmark06...15k (*Smashing QX9300with 4870CF setup @ 14k)

Vantage score will be around 2300...

Biggest jump in games will be the PS2 and Gamecube/WII emulator
and GTAIV and Starcraft 2 with Total war series~

What does the ES mean, and what is the other version?

What is the difference between them?

I got the ES version from Ebay too ^^ i think the difference is the ES version was made for Intel to send to to companies to test on and the OEM version is retail version.
There both the same except for the price..Not 100% sure on this so if someone could confirm or correct that would be nice :)

They're not exactly the same, they're still earlier steppings that can run hotter or be more temperamental. That being said, they're a great deal if you except the risk.

Hey guys. I have been thinking of throwing one in my M15x. I have the 720QM and wanted to know the gaming performance increase. If its only like 1-5 FPS then Im gonna forget about it but if its say, 20+ I'm all for it.

Games are very GPU dependent; you're not going to get a worthwhile increase if that's all you want it for. I would say maybe 1-2% in current gen games.

Very Interesting results. Waiting to see the overclocked results. I am going to grab a 920xm here soon so this makes me happier.

Im having some trouble finding a overclock for the CPU to use while gaming, getting the 920xm to hit 3.2 on all 4 cores just takes too much power while gaming and my whole system slows down.so OC might be a while yet :O.some tweaking to do.

Looks like the minimum's tell the story. A decent average frame-rate means nothing if it's dipping all the time.
