    Alright lads and ladies,

I've procrastinated for months about upgrading my M15X/building a desktop.

Now, the delima I have is money.
My priority at the moment is to save and move house closer to uni, I just finished my course two weeks ago (Advanced Diploma of Animation) and will be doing a year-long Diploma of Illustration... Anyway, I use my laptop for a lot of 3D modelling, 2D/3D animation and After Effects work.

I want a desktop, but am wanting to utilise the money for moving.

Everyone here has stated that the 920XM QS is the best bang-for-buck; so that's what I'll get.

I want to know where the community gets their parts from, I see the 920XM QS on eBay for ~$400 from upgrade/laptop monkey.
Are there any better places to buy parts from?

Priorities for a computer are CPU performance for 3D, Cuda enabled GPU for After Effects rendering (5850m doesn't have it, but I can try and live for 6 months) and plenty of RAM (already maxxed out on M15x).

So, just to make this post make some sense; where's the best place online to purchase a 920XM QS?
Here's some on eBay, including the 940XM QS:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/INTEL-i7-920XM-3-2GHz-quad-QS-mobile-CPU-processor-for-55-chipset-laptop-monkey-/130682045632?pt=CPUs&hash=item1e6d41c4c0
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/INTEL-i7-940XM-3-33GHz-quad-QS-mobile-CPU-processor-for-55-chipset-Mobile-8MB-/251180133789?pt=UK_Computing_Laptops_EH&hash=item3a7b80ad9d

    Cheers.

Its working great. I didn't benchmark it as my main purpose was for gaming, but after OC-ing it to almost 3GHz I was able to play Guild Wars 2 at almost max settings more smoothly as compared to playing with the same settings with a 740qm (both with 6990m). Roughly I think I got about 15-25fps increase using fraps in gameplay.

As for aliexpess, IMO its just another ebay but less known so I would ask to exercise caution and always try to go for people with as much reputation points as possible. I took a small gamble with that guy as his was the cheapest I saw.. thankfully it did work out great.

I think ebay gets pretty good deals. But that one seems awesome!
