    Hi guys,

My AW wont play blu rays. It does have the following: Optical Drive : Slot Load Blu-Ray ROM Combo (Blu-ray read only, DVD, CD read and
    write) Drive.

When I tried to play it, it didnt automatically run, and media player couldnt read the disc or play?

I have had a factory reset since owning my AW. That was a few months ago. Is it possible that I havent installed the correct driver? Game disks run fine.

    Any help would be great.

    Cheers :)

Media player won't play Blu Rays.

You'll need PowerDvD or something else capable.

Nero's player can do it. PowerDVD is fine. You might also look at Splash Pro

Splash PRO - The Next Generation Player There is a free version to try. I like it for AVCHD files as well.

if you bought your alienware with the blu-ray drive, powerDVD should have came with the computer (it may not have been pre-installed, I can't remember if mine was). powerDVD is the most common player ATM. I did not know that vlc can now play blu-rays. this is great news!

Yes, it's a very good software, but it's not free as VLC.

true, but VLC 1.2 isn't out yet, and VLC doesn't integrate into windows media center (if you use it).
