    Hi there,

After reading The Revelator's post. I went to BIOS to check if intel speedstep is enabled. It is enabled but i also found something that i don't understand.

Is my CPU under turbo boost ? Because in store they said it is not but i can boost it upto 3.2 or something.

Here is what i saw in BIOS advanced settings

    CPU Speed : 1.73Ghz
    memory Frequency : 1333Mhz
    Memory Channel Mode : Dual
    CPU Performance Mod : Turbo

    Turbo mode : Enabled
    Select Clock Mode : [AUTO]
    DDR3 Voltage : [1.5 V]

    Makes any sense ? :(

Your turbo boost is enabled which means that it will boost 1/2/3 cores when needed.

What you are reading is correct. The base clock is 1.73Ghz. It will boost to higher clocks when it needs up to 3.2Ghz on one core.

Up to the point where it hits the max power usage of 45w, then it'll throttle back to stay under the TDP.

Just use turbo boost monitor. I suggest to use ver. 1 instead of 2.0

Turbo boost does not need any drivers and works from the beginning. I guess only BIOS can stop it but mine (not alienware) can't turn off even hyper-threading.
