Be careful buying these. Intel just recently started causing some serious legal trouble for the sellers of the ES CPUs on eBay. A lot of the sellers are selling them illigally.

Knowingly buying stolen property is a felony in the United States under 18 U.S.C. § 2315 (if it's over $5,000 in goods). Each state has laws for anything less than $5,000. I don't know about other countries.

    So..... no one knows! :D

I'd say go for it, most of us have these ES models, there is really no risk in buying them, just selling them on again should be carried out with caution.

Well, if you pay 5.000 USD for a XM CPU, you deserve to do some prison time ;)

be careful buying from alibaba, lot of scammer there also,

ebay still much more safer after all,

and about QS/ES, i agreed that it would be a good option, got myself 920XM ES few months ago for less than $300 indeed, and worked well PnP, also managed to OC'ed it without any trouble.... :)

Sounds good. Anyone know how much of a difference between the 920 and the 940? You definitely pay quite a bit more for the 940. Wondering if its worth it all.

depends on ur hardware. my 560m with 940 combo is not supergood as 560m starts to throttle so you dont see the benefits of having the 940 , but when encoding video yes its superfast.
and any combo 940 + amd work better Performance wise (but lacking some nvidia features)
