Try updating to the latest BIOS and reinstalling Command Center (download the latest version from Dells website).

If those don't work, just go through control panel and turn on virtual scrolling from the mouse settings.

I too encounter quite similar error message when I opened the Alien Touch within the Command Center, but I still can use the touchpad with no problem. It is just that each time I enter Alien Touch, the error message appears and then the entire Command Center shuts down by itself.

My laptop is originally loaded with newest BIOS, A08, but with slightly outdated Command Center. Thus, I downloaded and installed the latest Command Center from Dell website. However, the very same occurance happens again. Then again, I do not use Command Center and my touchpad works fine, so I am not bothered by it.

Still, I am wondering whether there is wrong with my system. Can anyone help?

The command center is just kinda buggy. As i mentioned before just go to Control panel > devices > mouse. On the tabs in mouse properties click device settings > settings > scrolling > one finger scrolling and check the ones that say "Enable horizontal scrolling" and "Enable vertical scrolling".

If you still have trouble finding let me know and i'll make a picture tutorial showing where it is.

As mentioned before it's really buggy. I don't use the CC for anything aside from changing colors.

yeah, I had the same problem, tried everything didnt work, then I read somewhere on the forum that installing scrybe would help and it did. :) but it is a bit bothersome, so im gonna go over clean both CC and touchpad driver out and install them again and again until I can get it to work without the help of an extra software :), but I guess its fine to use for a temp fix

I had the same problem and this solved: uninstall any "extra" software u've installed -> uninstall synaptic driver -> uninstall CC -> reboot -> install newest CC -> reboot -> install newest synaptic driver from dell -> reboot -> give AlienTouch another try

I recommend you guys dl scrybe once you guys get this scrolling thing sorted out. It works pretty well and makes the touchpad 3x more useful imo.
