    Hey guys,

First of all i apologize if this topic is posted earlier.
I am posting my Laptop config.
Would like to know if it's possible to upgrade the GPU and the RAM of M15x?

If yes, what things do i need to keep in mind to check if the GPU/RAM is compatible with my system.

And please suggest me good GPUs which i can get for my system as i am not aware of the good GPUs in the market.

    Thanks :)

I think the M15x can do a 7970M, and I think can do 16 GB RAM if you have 8 GB sticks.

    ^What Tsunade_Hime said :)

The m15x can take 7970m as well as 680m and 780m. Keep in mind though, that you might need to mod your PSU if you plan to overclock any of these cards (you might need modded PSU for 780m regardless).
Don't forget about the i7-9x0XM upgrade, which is another performance jump if you OC the processor.

EDIT: Hey Hime, won't you join our 7970m crossfire club? :D

None of my games that I play require more than 5870M CF (SC2, Dota 2, TF2, MW3). Honestly that'd be a total waste of like 1000 dollars. That and I am looking into replacing my R2 with an Alienware 18 maybe in a year or so.

So a few of us out there are using older 210W Dell PSUs or using current 240W PSUs with the central pin removed or a switch added.
By doing any of these you effectively unlock extra power from the M15x and are no longer plagued with throttling issues.
7970M is a great fit for M15x and is plug and play with no driver mods required. You might be able to pick one up used.

You should look out for 1333 Mhz DDR3 RAM at at least CAS 9 or lower.

Or just any 1600 ram if price difference is negligible.

I think at first 7970M had I believe fan issues in the M17x R2 (not your system), I'm not 100% sure on the M15x.

No fan issues if you get the Dell card. The Clevo version doesn't have auto fan control so you have to use HWinfo to control them and that is a bit annoying.
