    No the 460m should be fine. Plus the that came from your machine backplate will work perfectly. I've been through 2 of them, worthy investment if you need all the nvidia stuff.

    kyussmanchu, it should be fine. the 6970's with issue were the eurocom models. instead of using a backplate, they had soldered screws onto the card itself.

    grats on your upgrade, i'm assuming from the 240/260m?
    i think you will be pleased with the overall performance boost. well worth it especially if you have apps which make use of physx and/or cuda.

    Yup, I'm running the 260M right now. I plan on upgrading the CPU to i7 920XM at the same time too. My only worry is whether the PSU can handle it. If not, I'll need to get a 240W one I suppose.

    you may notice the psu getting a little warmer than before but it should be fine.
    mine broke down after a gpu fried (fan failed... not my fault... seriously :D)
