I never tried flashing to dell vbios when I had a 6990M. Only thing it fixes is the displayport but not always. It won't fix fan speed control but there is a way to max HWinfo start up automatically with windows (google it).
I modified by bios with RBE but the 6990M runs very hot so I stuck with stock clocks after a few attempts at overclocking.

Ok if it fixes the display port and no damage occurs, then I will go ahead doing it. I knew about the HWInfo, but thanks for suggesting it

I didn't say no damage occurs. I never tried it. Take a look at this thread over on T ¦ I before you go ahead with flashing [Guide] M15x with AMD 6970m / 6990m - everything you need to know

If it's working fine now with the msiAfterburner to control the fans I would suggest you to keep it as it is.

Thanks for the input. I'm using HWinfo64 to control the fan speeds ( I guess thats what you meant, Luis? ;) ). I didnt dare the AW bios, because it seems by looking at the bios that it has different memory chips.

I have ripped the original Clevo bios and edited it with Radeon Bios Editor to reduce core voltage because of overheating. I landed on 1.03v and 750/1000. I still have to raise the back, or the GPU memory temp quickly raises above 100 degrees when gaming hard. I tried some different cooling pads, but for now, even the memory chips are covered in arctic silver 5, as it gives the best results (of what I had available). I also bended the heatsink mounting plate in the four corners for 50% more pressure (measured with a weight, for even pressure) - that helped a little, too. But I'm seriously considering mounting a third heatpipe (ripped from a broken notebook), though shaping it correct and soldering will take more time, that I can spare currently. But in previous testing, I found that using a noisy auxillery fan it would go 910/1285 at stock voltage, so its quite tempting to get more cooling :)
