It seems I have severely f***ed up my Alienware M15x in less than a year. Probably all that carrying it around that world.

Basically, I'm having 'a clock interrupt was not received by a secondary processor on time'. It may happen about once or twice a day. It only happens when I'm browsing the net/watching movies, not when I'm playing a game or something like that (well not yet).

Often, my screen freezes are SOMETIMES recovers. Other times the pc just restarts. If it recovers I get a popup saying the Nvidea driver froze and recovered. This used to happen on my old driver, so I updated to the newest, yet it still happens.

I recently cleaned out my fans with compressed air and my laptop was running ALOT better. Like it would get unbearably hot before but now it doesn't.

This interrupt error has been around for a few months now, but it's gotten more frequent now, same with the driver freezes. It only really happens when I click something or try open a screen, ie it doesn't happen randomly when I'm not interacting with the mouse. It doesn't seem to happen when playing games either...

Any help or ideas would be appreciated...I cant do a reinstall of windows because my external just broke and I have nowhere to move my data. I'm not sure how to update bios and I will try changing video drivers again now...

Please list your system specs and BIOS version.

Also what temps do you have at idle/gaming?

    Windows 7 64bit
    4 Gigs RAM
    Nvidia 260M 1gig
    i7 720 QM
    Motherboard Bios version A05

The heating isn't an issue at all anymore....my pc always feels much much cooler since I cleaned it out, runs much quieter too. I want to try update my BIOS, I have the M15xA09.iso file but I'm not sure how to use it? Write it to a DVD and restart?

Right, I moved my laptop to my bed, on the way the power cord went out by accident and it went off (I've taken the battery out).

I tried to start up again, the first time 4 mins after I started up I get BSOD IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL or whatever. The next startup a few minutes in I got BSOD BAD POOL HEADER. The next startup I got BSOD REFERENCE BY POINTER. :(

Then I started up again and didn't open anything, just closed everything that tried to open (skype, msn etc) and got here. It seems pretty bad and the laptop is heating up..

Do you have a warranty? I know the processor error thing hits me when I don't have enough voltage to the CPU. Which brings up another point, do you have the CPU overclocked by chance? If you have a valid warranty, I would pursue that route. As for the driver issue, best bet would be a back up, and then clean install.
