My clock speeds drop randomly and cause bad lag in games. I'm using the 11.6 drivers and A08.

    Here's a gpu-z sensor log

    How do I fix this?
    Thanks

Update to A09 and see if it still does it.

It killed your motherboard? That's rough. I do know that A09 fixes a lot of the throttling issues. You could maybe try forcing the clocks with AMD clock tool.

Was this log taken while gaming? Because your GPU load never hits 60% and is most of the time 0%.

I've never heard of throttling with a 5850m, and your log doesn't really show the typical throttling symptoms. And anyway, throttling should've got solved with BIOS A08.
Maybe the lag is caused by thermal throttling of the CPU, can you make a CPU logfile as well? Also check stealth mode (even though your clocks should be different when stealth mode is activated).

I've check stealth mode many times.
Yeah the log was taken while playing Oblivion.
Here's another log taken while I was playing Tropico 3, if I remember correctly

I logged a short laggy session on Crysis and I can't attach the HWiNFO log because its an excel file, but there was nothing unusual about my CPU in the log. My GPU load was slightly more consistent and reached a higher load than normal but it still never reached 100%.

Hate to double post, but is there a program that allows me to force a steady clock or set a minimum gpu clock?

The GPU clock isn't the problem, your GPU load is on 0% almost all the time... I can't imagine you can even game with this...

What's with the CPU logfile? I'd like to see what's up with the CPU as well.

I can't, but I haven't had time to game lately anyways.

What's a good program to log my cpu with?

I need to do a clean install of windows, so I might try that when I get a chance and see if it helps any.

Check out the GPU-Z logs from the OP, he doesn't have throttling issues on the GPU, the problem is somewhere else.

@Ldmoose: Make a CPU log, with Throttlestop, like xeroxide said.

The ThrottleStop log file doesn't show any throttling. Did you experience any of those slow downs while that log was running? I'd run ThrottleStop and GPU-Z at the same time and then go play some games and if you have some sudden FPS drops then keep track of what time it happened so you can go back and have a look at the log files for anything unusual.

Your GPU is going into its power saving modes and slowing down when lightly loaded. That's normal but I think there are some ways around that when testing as mentioned above by kyo86sg.
